Dr. Darry Johnson, MD

Dr. Johnson is one of the few doctors I trust. He is caring, knowledgeable, and competent. He is a good listener who respects his patients and goes out of his way to provide them with individualized care. I found that he provides a perfect blend of providing his expertise while allowing for patient input.

Husband was a patient from early 2000's to 2017 when we left to home base in TX and RV after the death of my in-laws here in AZ. Dr Johnson went far beyond what anyone would expect even all those years ago in not only the treatment of, staying on top of new treatments as well as those which might be fruitful which were still on the horizon. Returning to AZ, being diagnosed with a Neuro disorder, managed to find Dr J still in practice here. Only this time I was the newly diagnosed pt in need of treatment. I travel the extra miles because I find he truly cares, is always prepared for our appts to incl info on things on the horizon which might help in future if and when proven fruitful. He keeps up. Have learned that with all doctors in recent years to be fully prepared for my appts. If anything comes up between visits, concerns are always addressd via portal. Adrian Bunta, cannot sing his praises high enough, though have only interacted with him once. Very personable, professional.

I found Dr. Johnson through social media. Upon first visit I very comfortable, and living with Cervical Dystonia being comfortable is a daily struggle. My wife and I talked with Dr. Johnson for what seemed an hour and we did not feel rushed.He was able to figure out what other doctors seem to miss.Thank you Dr. Johnson you made a Dystonia patient feel heard.

Yes, I just wanted to express my happiness and relief for having Dr. Derry Johnson as my husbands neurologist. The first time we met him he showed knowledge and kindness to our situation. My husband has Dementia. It felt like a weight was immediately lifted off my shoulders. This is our third visit since the diagnosis and every single time Dr. Johnson makes me feel at ease and is always there to help! I have never met a doctor that I was so helpful with his knowledge and understanding. No wonder he is one of the top Neurologist in the state. Thank you Dr. Johnson for supporting my husband and myself through a difficult time! I will be forever grateful that I got you as a reference!

The last 2visits I saw Adrian Bunta for injections for migraines. He treats you like a person not an assembly line. Explains what he is doing when he is giving you the injections. Dr Johnson and Adrian are the best!

Dr. Johnson is a highly skilled professional, he tells you exactly what to expect with medical procedures. He is compassionate, gentle and a very good listener. He has an open mind and freely discusses treatment possibilities with you in regards to your neurological condition and symptomology. I highly recommend Dr. Johnson as a neurologist.

I've been a patient for years and since the pandemic it has become practically impossible for a working person to communicate with the office. I've had appts canceled 1 day prior and been told to reschedule but unless you have free time during the week ( I don't) you can't get anybody on the phone. When they canceled my last apt I made no arrangements to be available and missed the phone call for the apt THEY had canceled. Now they are refusing to refill my meds with no communication what so ever as I'm sure I need to talk to the Dr. yet find it a losing proposition attempting to talk to anybody. Since they aren't willing to contact me or refill my meds I will be switching Neurologists and will be in agony until I can get established to get my meds.

I’ve been a patient of Dr Johnson’s for 15 years. Initially for chronic migraines; then when I developed hemi-facial spasms (HFS), he treated those as well. Although I had a history of suffering daily migraines for 40 years, Dr J was able to find a medication that greatly reduced the frequency and duration of my migraines. It has been life-changing. He initially treated the HFS with injections, when the severity became too great, he recommended and saw me thru surgery which completely resolved the facial spasms. I could not be happier, or more highly recommend Dr. Johnson as a Neurologist. His staff is also great.

Listens to my concerns and questions fully, gives you straight talk and information on the issue, then determined and outlined treatment options and follow up care.

Short wait, friendly staff, Dr. Johnson always greets with a smile and calm, caring, compassionate presence. He is an educator, explaining everything in a way that is easily understood.

Dr. Johnson was very patient and understanding. I experienced a very short wait time and he was very prompt in administering the neurological tests I needed to have done. Overall, Dr. Johnson exceeded my expectations in both expertise and attentiveness. His office was also very clean and well maintained. I highly recommend him.

My husband was referred to Johnson by our primary care physician. He didn't take note that we live an hour away and wanted my husband to drop every he had been told about his condition and go to only his therapy group. Is there a kick back? I don't know. He did not seem caring and when leaving my husband wanted to ask more questions and the medical assistant said she had another patient and she didn't have time to. Such terrible service. I expressed my issue with the billing office and they said the issue had never been addressed in the 6 months since the appointment. We ended up having to pay the office the bill as they referred it to a collection service. I really don't think you should have to pay for a consultation with a doctor they don't like or they think provides substandard medical care.

Visited with my Aunt who has dementia. He was very respectful, helpful and patient. He helped her feel comfortable which was important because doctor visits make her feel anxious. This was our first impression. We are looking forward to working with him moving forward.

Trying to get my infusions moved to another state until I return,I get them every two weeks and this Bozo wants me to go without them until I return.Now it looks like I will be gone longer and I have called and left a message and nobody has returned my call.STAY AWAY

Dr Johnson diagnosed my Trigeminal Neurology right away, at this time I am pain free and I appreciate his help.

First visit rushed no time to answer questions. Was highly recommended so assume off day.

We've had Dr. Johnson for my Fathers Alzheimers disease for almost a year. Dr. Johnson has always taken the time to explain everything, provided beneficial documentation of interesting nature, and shown great respect and care for my Father. I am very glad we were recommended to Dr. Johnson.

He is just great all around. He is patient, gentle and understanding. He takes his time and takes his job seriously.
