Our family's primary care doctor retired recently, and we had to find a new primary care physician. I interviewed one who touted his reputation for mental health as well as physical health practice, but he lost me when he blew off what to me is an important mental health concern, and made an unwarranted assumption about me, based on absolutely no knowledge of me whatsoever. He also had no sense of humor. and seemed the type who would dictate to rather than work with me. I talked to Dr. Stevenson, and have had several visits now, and she has impressed me with her caring, her knowledge, her willingness to work with me, and her sense of humor. That last characteristic is an absolute must for me. Her advice has been sound, and she asks questions instead of making assumptions. I have some knowledge base to evaluate her on these points, as I was a registered nurse years ago. My daughters and my son-in-law are now also seeing Dr. Stevenson, and are eminently satisfied with her.
