Dr. Yanni did an amazing job and helped me live pain free again. I saw him after a car accident that had impacted my existing spinal fusion and was causing more pain on my C spine. I had seen many doctors who wanted to rush me into surgery. Dr. Yanni provided the technical confidential and professionalism that put me at ease. I was scared and kept trying to postpone he reassured me and explained in detail his approach. I had the surgery and now have two spinal fusions, the surgery took a long time given that he had to repair the prior surgery. After 3 months of recuperation and physical therapy I was happy to report at my follow ups that the surgery was a HUGE success. I know love pain free in my neck, which isn’t a feeling I had for years. I’m so happy I went to him and highly recommend. He absolutely knows what he is doing, you’re in great hands.

I have been in the medical field for 45 years and have worked side by side with many physicians. Dr Yanni came highly recommended from within the medical community. I am very thankful that I now have Dr Yanni as my Neurosurgeon. I had severe compression on my cervical spine . He did a vey smooth surgery on me in Sept of 2023 I am pain free and my range of motion in my neck is better then ever!!! He is a very talented surgeon and an all around great guy!! The best Neurosurgeon in the OC. Before I committed to the ACDF surgery recommended by Dr. Yanni, I asked around and talked to several doctors. They all said that he is the best. I am so glad that I decided to go with Dr. Yanni for the surgery. Before the surgery, I was in a lot of pain and could not sleep. The pain went away 2 weeks postop. It has been a year now since and am still pain free. I respect Dr. Yanni's commitment to delivering the best care to achieve the best possible outcome. I would highly recommend anyone who needs spinal surgery to go with Dr. Yanni.

Dr. Yanni and his staff are amazing! On may 8th 2023 I had cervical disc replacement surgery at my C5,6 and C7 levels. The surgery went absolutely textbook. I cannot express enough gratitude for Dr. Yanni for taking such good care of me. Before the surgery he was extremely honest with me about any potential risks. He went above and beyond explaining the process of the surgery and put my nerves at ease, knowing I was in good hands. Although it was a scary process (neck surgery is something no one wants) I am finally living neck pain free! Forever in your debt, Thank you Dr. Yanni! Jasmine (receptionist) is also a true Gem, she was always there to answer any questions I had and was very communicative. She made the entire process easy! Dr. Yanni has performed 3 spinal surgeries on me (a partial lumbar discectomy in 2012 and more involved cervical and lumbar procedures in 2023). All of the surgeries went perfectly—they eliminated severe pain and restored full functionality. He came highly recommended as an amazing surgeon and has also proved to be a pleasure to work with. He is realistic and serious (as a surgeon should be) but is also warm and friendly and has a subtle sense of humor. His DiscComfort office staff are also very competent and easy to work with. This is the place to go if you need back surgery.

I recently had surgery to repair severe degeneration in my cervical areas of C-3/4; 4/5; and 5/6. Dr. Yanni was extremely careful in my diagnosis as well as in his requirements for pre-op preparations. Though this operation is rather scary I was encouraged by many of the doctors who consulted me in my preparation, who told of their respect for Dr. Yanni's skill and carefulness. I will have to wear a neck-brace for the next three months to allow for healing and for bone growth over the inserted metal rods. My post-op two week check up went very well and my incision is healing and there is very little pain. I thank God for Dr. Yanni who has been given great skills for his work. I also was helped greatly by his staff member (Jasmine) who helped me through the whole pre-op tests and appointments with other doctors. From beginning to this point, Dr. Yanni has been most careful and professional.

Dr. Yanni is amazing, I had disc C5/C6 and C6/C7 strangling my spinal cord causing tons of pain. Yanni got me into surgery in two weeks and I was pain free instantly post surgery and completely off pain meds and muscle relaxers with in 4 days. highly recommend.

Dr Yanni saved my life in 2018. He successfully performed two spinal surgeries on my back and I cannot thank him enough for that.

Dr. Yanni has provide we with a new lease on life, having performed three separate spinal surgeries and carpal tunnel surgery on both hands over the past nine years. This has allowed me to regain full function of my legs and hands and the ability to continue working and return to an active life. He is the top of his field and truly an artist.

Who wants Back Surgery? Not me! I was in shock when I learned I had Severe Spinal Stenosis. Thank goodness my brother (a retired physician) recommended Dr. Yanni. It was truly my lucky day. After 6 months of pain in my lower back, I was referred to Dr Yanni by my pain specialist Dr Gluzman. On my first visit to Dr Yanni, he had a plan. I had a synovial cyst between my L4 and L5. The pain was so bad, sitting down was not an option. He would have to remove the cyst and fuse L4 and L5. He was so empathetic and fit me in for surgery ASAP. Amber in his office coordinated all the test and appointments for me. That helped tremendously. I highly recommend Dr Yanni for his medical expertise and his positive and passionate approach. It has been 6 weeks post op and I feel great!!

At nearly 70 and a business owner, I have had to fortune to work with many professionals including doctors. 10 years ago, I herniated a Disc and had a L3-4 fusion. Although it went as expected I had almost zero pre-op counseling from the Surgeon or his staff. Recently I ruptured 2 more below that fusion. I networked 10 ways to Sunday to find the best. A very well-known and respected Neurosurgeon here in Newport recommended Dr. Daniel Yanni. On the very same day my neighbor told me Dr. Yanni saved his wife after she fell and broke her neck. He said the treatment, concern, and communication from Dr. Yanni was outstanding… well, I concur! I met with Dr. Yanni last fall. We determined that I did indeed need fusion form S1 to L4 and a revision of the previous fusion. We tried to schedule for December or January, but the hospital kept postponing due to Covid 19, understandably. Dr. Yanni stayed in constant communication with including several visits both Zoom and in office… he was EXTREMEL

Dr. Yanni and staff performed miracles on my back !! At the age of 69, and after a very active life I stupidly fell off a three foot shelf and crushed 2 vertebrae and ruptured several discs in my lumbar spine. 5 months later and after what I would call a very minor surgery (out patient) I am up and about, probably 80% back to normal and on my way to 100%. He truly knows his stuff and does it with a great personality as well!! Thank you Doc!! You honestly saved me.

In late 2019 (Age 57) I developed lower back pain radiating down my right hip and eventually more down my leg. Around March 2020 I gave up and went to see my primary who sent me to get an MRI which revealed that I had a synovial cyst and some disk bulging at L4-L5. There was also other degeneration at L3-L4, but L4-L5 was the target for now. I was referred to physical therapy for several months as a first step to try to provide relief. It was a good try but didn’t work except to strengthen my core. Surgery became the only option and my PT referred me to Dr. Daniel Yanni. Dr. Yanni sent me for various other tests like nerve conduction in my legs. He talked to me extensively about my choices (My non-technical descriptions); 1. Remove the cyst and clean up between L4-L5 or 2. Remove the cyst and fuse the L4-L5 joint. Dr. Yanni advised on both and let me decide what I thought was best for me. I was terrified when I learned that Cervical Fusion (C5 and C6) was recommended for me. I am so fortunate that I was under the care of Dr. Yanni. I was not getting the care that I needed until I came to Dr. Yanni's. Every time I visited his office, I was treated with the best care. His staff is amazing, and Dr. Yanni sat with us as long as we needed to answer any questions that I had (or my wife had). Needless to say, when it was time for my surgery, I was confident that everything would work out well. AND IT DID. I was surprised to get periodic phone calls from Michelle and Amber just to check in on me after my surgery. He and his staff truly care about their patients. I recommend Dr. Yanni completely. He is a phenomenal surgeon, and wonderful person.

I was referred to Dr. Yanni in December 2019 after exhausting all prerequisite treatments (chiropractor, therapeutic massage, and physical therapy) without any relief for my pain and numbness. At my first visit, I was impressed with Dr. Yanni’s professionalism, knowledge, and thoroughness in evaluating my condition. Had a cervical fusion, C4-6, in June 2020. That was a year ago. I've experienced no problems. Now awaiting a lumbar fusion. Dr. Yanni wants me to build the bones in my spine before doing the surgery to insure its success. I trust him explicitly. His office staff is also professional, helpful, and friendly.

Two years ago Dr. Yanni repaired my severely damaged cervical spine. He removed bone spurs, performed cervical fusions, replaced three vertebrae and with metal boxes and finished with a plate and eight screws. He has given me my life back. I look forward to my follow up visits with Dr. Yanni. His sense of humor, expert advise and wisdom is priceless.
