Dangerous Doc
Extremely arrogant, irresponsible, dismissive, gaslighting and entitled. Waved off objective visible signs with no testing…later became a significant issue. He’s in love with himself and lipids, but could care less about actual people. Avoid.

Agree with negative comments
I saw him at Penn and also found him to be arrogant, rude and dismissive. I will never go back to see him and will insist my internist recommend someone else. He has an incredibly high opinion of himself and wants you to know what he doesn’t think you know and how very smart he is. Terrible bedside manner. I was surprised that he is employed by Penn because that type of bedside manner is not our experience with Penn doctors. They are direct but never rude or condescending.

I thought that Dr. Soffer was a specialist in the field of cholesterol. I found him rude and sorry I even attempted to try and help myself by going to Dr. Soffer. I wasn't an interruption to his work day, but he made me feel so. It ended I had no desire to return to Dr. Soffer care and he had no desire to care for me. I honestly think that is why he is was so rude. I am a senior citizen and the Medicare payment doesn't attract him as well. His Fellow doctor was far better then Dr. Soffer. The minute you walked into that office the staff seemed unrelaxed and stressed. This is a cardiologist office.

Dismissive if questioned. Poor listener. No concept of holistic care, reduces patient to a metabolic profile only.

This doctor is unpleasant. He is about half as smart as he says he is, and he says he is a lot, about as often as Trump does. He is indifferent to patients and denigrates other doctors. His referrals are disastrous. I will be leaving the practice.

Maybe the worst bedside manner I have ever experienced. He seems disinterested in the entire process. He must spend too much time with lab rats.

My son, spouse and myself see him. He listens to what you have to say, he's compassionate and cares about how you are feeling. This past year, I was very ill and he gave me all the necessary tests, etc. to find out the problem. I recommend him whenever a friend of ours is looking for an internist. Dr. Soffer even says go and get a second opinion, which not too many physicians do. Highly recommend him.
