Very engaged and attentive
I've been seeing Dr. Shibuya for almost 5 years. I first went to him to treat chronic migraines. It was the first time I felt heard and we worked together to find the right treatment. My life has changed so much due to his care.

Dr. Shibuya
On my second visit, as with my first, Dr. Shibuya was very attuned to me as a person. He is an insightful man, a medical professional. By his manner and down-to-earth knowledge sharing, I became comfortable knowing that I had come to the right doctor. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs physical treatment and the ease of mind gained by knowing that you came to the right doctor. I will see Dr. Shibuya as my treatment continues.

Dr. Shibuya has been my neurologist for more than 10 years. I was impressed by him on my first visit because he had taken the time to review my extensive medical records and test results so that he had a good understanding of my many medical issues. With this appointment and all those in the future, he answered all my questions and never made me feel rushed. I appreciate that he thinks "outside the box" in that he does not confine his recommendations to standard prescription medications and makes good referrals. He writes the most thorough visit summary notes than any other doctor who has helped me. He must work many late extra hours as he has called me in the evening or weekend, responding to a question, even immediately filling a prescription. I highly recommend Dr. Shibuya.

Dr. Shibuya has been my neurologist for more than 15 years and I was always very pleased with him until my last two visits due to a head injury ... he seems totally distracted and just not his usual caring self. I am sorry to say I will never “consult” with him again. His staff doesn’t seem to do the referrals he orders and his receptionists have a difficult time paying attention to patients. It’s been several weeks since Dr Shibuya told me he ordered a referral - five calls later, still no referral to the head injury/concussion clinic. Is it possible for them to refund my $50 copay since I got absolutely nothing out of the last visits. If this doctor and his staff cannot deal with deaf patients they should not accept appointments with them!

Dr. Shibuya treats my son's neurology disorder since 2012. We did not have any concerns with him. He is professional and a good listener. We are happy with his service. He returns our calls almost immediately when we need to talk to him. He do not show his emotions but I do know he do care about his patients. We look forward to seeing him again early next year for the annual check up. Thank you Dr. Shibuya.

He was thorough, thoughtful, practical and an excellent physician. I highly recommend him. I asked many people to identify the best neurologist in New Mexico. I was prepared to go to out of state to receive the level of care I wanted. I found it with Dr. Shibuya.

Dr. Shibuya found a unique medical issue related to my daughter, who at the time was 16. Thank God, as she was extremely ill and no one was able to correctly identify the issue. The only problem we had was the amount of medications that were prescribed, and then changed, which had their own ill side effects. For this reason, she chose not to return. Ultimately, I have just recently recommended him to my sister for issues that she is having. She is in her late 50's. Thank you Dr. Shibuya.

Dr. Shibuya found the cause of a problem I have had for four years! My prior Doctors in AZ had all made the wrong diagnosis and were medicating me for something I didn't have. All it took was a different test and now I am on the correct medication for a KNOWN cause. Thank you Dr. Shibuya!
