Terrible Bedside Manners
He became very upset at a family member when they attempted to ask questions about a procedure they were having. Very rude and stormed out of the room.

Very rude, he didn’t listen. Would not recommend!
My son is 20 went for a follow up from hospital stay, the dr just came in said your fine and didn’t bother to listen to how my son was feeling. He has continued having tachy cardia. Hopefully they can help us at sierra providence. A well later my son was admitted to icu in risk of a stroke from afib and arythmia . Thank God dr. Assi cared and helped him with medicine and referred him to dr Hammilton , my son ended up getting a cardiac ablation. I hope dr Ortiz doesn’t let any other young men slide by his care like he did to my son. Thank God my son is alive. I will be reporting. This to Texas board. He told my son this episodes of arythmia is a big nothing burger when my son was scared.

Unusually fast consult.
My visit with Dr Ortiz took all of about 10 minutes. Mostly him reading my data. Told me that my heart was good and I probably had anxiety and that should worry less and enjoy life more. That was it. I tried to talk to him about my medications but he stuck out his hand and headed for the door. He literally left while I was still talking. It was very awkward. I wished him a Merry Christmas as we walked away in the hallway and he wished the same to me. I had many questions I wanted to ask him but he was in such a rush he never gave me a chance. I’ve seen many many doctors in the past but this experience will rate one of the worst. Maybe because I was a VA referral? I don’t know. Well I guess he basically did do what I was sent for him to do. Check my ticker. Hmm..I wonder what the government paid him for my 8 minute appointment.

Never had him as a cardiologist but he has been my favorite urgent care doctor yet! Wish I could have him as my primary doctor. He took his time and made me feel at ease. He’s also easy to look at ??

I know the first person that left a comment confused this doctor with someone else. Dr. Ortiz has been a blessing in my life, family, and friend's lives. He is professional, kind, organized, and hospitable. Every time I go for my own personal reasons or with someone else, I always feel taken care of, he explains everything, and all of the medical needs are always met. We need more doctors like him I do not feel like a number, but an actual person. - Thank you Daniel Ortiz!

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Ortiz?
My experience wasn't good. He was difficult to access in the hospital. He kept scheduling, then re-scheduling tests to the point where I would've had to wait over 3 days for them to conduct; during which time he wanted to keep me off of an unrelated, but critical medication that without, I would have soon wound up experiencing considerably more severe and unrelated problems going without, than what I came in. His compassion and bedside manner was abrasive. The problem went unresolved.
