Positive reviews aren’t always true
He talks down to you as a patient especially younger aged. A lot of reviews are saying he’s great with communication but he’s really talking down to you. Went all the way into a procedure with anesthesia to say the equipment is not functioning and they haven’t checked it in weeks . Awful awful doctor !

I had a great experience with Dr. Martin. He was great as were the two nurses that were in the procedure room. However I had an issue with the nurse who wheeled me out to the car. She had the audacity to tell me that I could remove my mask if I chose to. She also had the audacity to say the following: “what makes you think you are more exposed than us healthcare providers?” I am a teacher and I am just as exposed as healthcare professionals. I felt pressured into removing my mask despite me saying I have immunocompromised family.

excellent knowledge, but little bedside manner
This group kindly gave me an appointment very soon after I telephoned (in abject pain) after the orthopedists' group where I had had four surgeries and several other related visits (as had my husband) would not schedule me for an appointment for three months. (That group is aware of my osteoporosis and had always made immediate appointments when I have called with a problem.) The folks at Ortho referred me to their walk-in clinic, and the PA there (who saw me that very day) x-rayed, verified a significant disc problem, and prescribed steroid pills that got me through a week. After that, I as immediately to see Dr. Martin. The receptionists (Leigh Anne and Ashley) were friendly, kind, and accommodating. Dr. Martin appeared quite competent, albeit more abrupt and much more impersonal than are my other doctors.

Dr. Martin listened as I described the pain I was having on our first visit. He ordered a X-ray of the spine. It wasn’t clear as to what was causing the pain so he ordered an MRI. I came back for the follow up visit. He detailed the findings on the MRI & we discussed treatment options. The staff was friendly & attentive to any questions I had.

Dr. Martin has helped so much since I was referred to his care. I'm starting to think that I may have a chance to do some of the day-to-day activities that I could perform before the back started limiting just simple things I use to perform.

If I could give this guy less than one star I would - after waiting weeks for a much needed appointment for a cortisone shot, which takes 20 mins, we show up at the time of appointment only to have them cancel for another two weeks. The lack of empathy was for my father, who is in chronic pain, from the nurse who was brought out to deal with my father was shocking and frankly embarrassing. What a shameful operations.
