Hospital visit
Telehealth
I was in the hospital with a Stroke. It was late in the evening and Dr Koontz did a discussion and analysis via telemedicine video. Was very prompt, complete and took his time describing treatment and plan. He visited me the next day in the hospital and was complete, friendly, and very thorough with exams and future plan.

Won't ever get a call back.
I have tried multiple times to call and schedule a follow up appointment for my mother who had a stroke and have not once gotten a call back. My mom went to a follow up with her general practitioner who has also tried to call and schedule this follow up appointment on behalf of my mother and not even they have gotten a call back.

Don't use this facility
The visit was great. But if you want test results, DON'T USE THIS FACILITY!They won't answer your messages! I never did get my test results! I had to have another doctor get them for me!I guess I wasn't important enough to deal with!

DO NOT GO TO THIS FACILITY – Dec 22, 2023
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Koontz?
I was in a Rehab facility after an ACDF C4-C6 surgery, TBI, Orbital blow-out w/entrapment and other injuries. I was billed for his time but I never met him or spoke to him. According to my medical records he provided education and counseling. I also learned from my medical records that I am at risk for a condition I have never heard of nor was it ever discussed.

He is awesome! After having 4 strokes he is the only Nuerologist that knew exactly what was wrong with me. There were many that didn’t. I would cramp up so bad and be in extreme pain. Other Dr’s did a ton of tests with no results. He diagnosed me with spasticity and it was a miracle! He treated me with meds to correct the issue. It’s amazing as when it would happen there was no rhyme or reason to it only extreme pain and partly paralyzed. I have no more issues with my spasticity as long as I remain of my meds. It’s a lifetime answer but no more excruciating pain and paralysis!! Dr Koontz is a lifesaver as without him it would have gotten worse and affected more areas. I can not recommend him enough! Thank you Dr Koontz!

This doctor did a minimal exam, then prescribed patches for my leg. This was several weeks ago. The pharmacy has been trying to reach him and he nor his team have called them back, I spoke to them yesterday. To this day the issue is not resolved and the poor service, I would fly to NY before seeing him and his assistants again. Horrible and still in lots of pain to the point of going to a Gastro doctor due to the stomach issues I have now.

Text book doctor! If you have any condition or something wrong with you outside of the normal findings of a test and textbook, don't waste your time here. People will talk big about him, but the results will be cheap! He is unable to help you. He will just say good luck, and also try to use large medical terminology to convince you he is smart. If you have a normal condition he might be good for you. Otherwise, go to the coastal states, no doc. in CO is able to help with any abnormal cases.

Dr. Koontz began seeing my mother in January 2016. My mother had been exhibiting behavior and symptoms for about a year and a diagnosis had not been made. On the first visit to Dr. Koontz he was able to diagnosis my mother. He is very kind and puts my mother at ease. He explains her condition thoroughly and clearly. Dr. Koontz shows genuine concern and doesn't just pass my mother through, he takes time and shows a commitment to help her. I would highly recommend Dr. Koontz.

Today I had my first visit with Dr. Koontz so keep in mind I have not began any treatment with him however, I was extremely impressed with his bedside manner. He took time with me and showed interest in working to help me find the right treatment. It is very hard to find a doctor who will have the patience and take the time to find underlining causes of chronic pain and Dr. Koontz just might be one of these amazing doctors who will. I see him again in a few weeks and I will keep you all posted.

I had an EMG test that Dr. Koontz performed. He was very professional from the beginning of my appointment, shaking my hand and introducing himself when he walked in. He explained the test he was going to perform in detail and answered all of my questions. He was so thoughtful and considerate too. I mentioned I was cold and he fashioned a "blanket" for me out of a paper gown to lay over my legs. Dr. Koontz is very kind, professional and an excellent doctor.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Koontz?
Dr. Koontz is a very competent physician, understanding and genuinely interested in helping with my condition. It is his staff that is abrupt and unfriendly. Never am I greeted with “hello” when I walk in. What I do get is a look that I am bothering her and I need to make it quick. I left two messages with his assistant and asked for a return call, I received nothing. If I did not like Dr. Koontz and trust his competency, I would have left the practice.

He's diagnosed me under a very critical time, treated me immediately, followed up by daily visits and even after our insurance changed and we could not see him, we changed dr.s , what a mistake that was, he took us right back and picked up just as when we had to leave.
