Very poor bedside manner
I found his bedside manner to be quite dismissive and their approach towards patients to be rather rude. His visits feel rushed and not given the opportunity to ask questions or discuss my concerns thoroughly. It's disheartening to encounter a healthcare professional who lacks the patience and empathy needed in this field. I believe effective communication is crucial in a doctor-patient relationship, and I did not feel heard or respected during my visit. A more compassionate and understanding approach would greatly improve the overall patient experience.

I wasn’t an easy patient and he was fabulous!
He stayed with me thru a couple of pre surgery procedures, very kind, even told me to tell the radiologist what I did to keep my skin from burning! If he left Des Moines I would follow him, where ever he practiced!

In September 2014, I had intestinal cancer. Dr. Kollmorgen and his expert team saved my life by removing a portion of my small intestine. No surgery or chemotherapy were required. In interacting with him I saw great compassion, intellect and skill. He and his team upheld the highest standards of the medical profession. He save my life.

couldn't ask for a better surgeon. He took so much time with my husband and myself after my diagnosis and explained everything to us. His staff is very friendly also. He did a amazing job and his bedside manor is above and beyond.

Dr. Kollmorgen and his team represent the very best one could wish for in a qualified surgeon performing a complex procedure demanding an extremely high skill and knowledge level. Not only that Mr. Kollmorgen meets those criteria as a professional, he also treats his patients as members of his own family. He's not just an excellent doctor, but also a great man. You'll be in very good hands and receive the best care possible. I owe him my life.

Dr Kollmorgen is very nice, friendly, & knowledgeable. He is my Mom's surgeon through her cancer journey & I wouldn't want anyone else to be her doctor. He truly cares about his patients. His nurse Cathy is wonderful too!
