Your trust is our top concern.

We strive to keep reviews honest, trustworthy, and fair.

Doctors can not pay for good reviews, nor can they pay to have negative reviews removed.

We monitor all reviews to ensure they comply with our guidelines and don’t include personal information, profanity, libel, defamation, harassment, obscenity or fraud.

Any reviews that are deemed fraudulent or violate our guidelines will be removed immediately.

All reviews are confirmed and audited before publication, and community members have the ability to flag inappropriate content for further review by our team.

Dr. Berland is a great doctor and a really good guy. I think the people leaving bad reviews are people that were seeking narcotics and thought he would fall for the same nonsense their MDs from the past fell for. He’s straight forward and will do what he can for you, while doing it in the most ethical way.

Once again Dr. Berland has responded to my concern immediately, with cheerful candor and straight forward medical advice. My doctor of many years, Dr. Berland never fails to listen carefully to my answers to the thoughtful and thorough questions he asks. Most important, he is never dismissive of my concerns. I have counted having Dr. Berland as my primary physician my good luck, and I am especially grateful for him at a time like this when it is heart-warming to see how hard he is working and can’t even see me in person. May this review serve as one of those signs on people’s front yards as thanks to health care workers. Thank you Dr. D. Berland!

Rude, arrogant, and dismissive. I have never walked out of an appointment before it was over, but I had to with him.

I agree with the other negative reviews. He was arrogant. He didn’t listen to me. He was rude and talked down to me. He made a lot of negative comments about medication prescribed to me by another doctor. I didn’t ask his opinion about that medication and did not want it. I will not be returning to see him. Staff outside of him were pleasant.

Dr Berland is a great doctor. At first I thought he was saying that I was crazy and all my pain was in my head but after I understood what he was talking about and I gave him a chance I found out that he was exactly right. I now know what he meant by the pain was in my head. It meant that when you take large doses of pain medication especially opiate medication, it can cause your brain to misfires to make you think you're in more pain than you are. He has saved my live because I believed in him.

Dr Berland was able to diagnose and recommend the exact treatment for my condition that NO other doctor could in over the 5 years I was in pain. He listened and told me what was wrong then taught me everything I should be doing in my situation. I would trust this doctor with my life, especially after giving me back mine. Thank you Dr B. Condescending, judgmental and dismissive. He was full of preconceived responses. I saw him only because I needed a referral to another doc. He seemed half-interested in what I had to say. He clearly is not invested in patient health and experience. I am disappointed that such a good university has such a person on staff. Most telling was when the nurse asked me after my appt. what I thought of him. I said "not much," and the nurse agreed. Came back with: "Well, I think he means well."

Would NEVER recommend. Condescending, arrogant, narcissistic, and rude, not only to me but to his own staff. Disregards other colleagues diagnosis and is accusatory and belittling. Writing to University of Michigan to file a formal complaint. He seemed to go out of his way to try to belittle me in front of a resident/intern. Also spoke rudely to my wife.

First appt felt he was very condescending, arrogant & dismissive of not just my pain, but documented med history and diagnoses (within UofM portal mind you)I have 10 specialists all at UofM and he ridiculed every single one! Still gave him a chance and returned for 3 more appts! It got worse when he took a call about a patient in front of me, and talked horribly about them, even called names, to nurse during call! No thanks! Horribly unprofessional & plain mean. No compassion! Stay Away!!!
