Having been a patient for over a decade, I can't find words to praise Dr. Berger and the staff at North Star Medical enough. I have always been a "nervous" and rather untrusting patient, and this is the first healthcare facility where I feel completely comfortable. Dr. Berger and his excellent staff have always treated me with utmost respect and kindness. I have never felt any pressure to consent to testing or treatment that I felt uncomfortable with, which has happened often to me with other providers. Even though I no longer live in Chicago, I still travel 4 hours each way during the summer and fly north from Florida during the winter to get what I consider to be the finest in healthcare. Additionally, because of the many clinical trials the Dr. Berger has been involved with there are many HIV positive people alive today who wouldn't be. I feel honored to have him as my doctor and lucky to have found North Star Medical.

Dr Berger has been my primary care providers for over 12 years now. I value his caring nature, intellect, and the fact that he keep up to date with and even contributes to cutting edge medical research. Yet despite his acclaim he is humble and totally dedicated to getting to the bottom my individual medical issues, finding a treatment that works best for me. I could not ask for a better doctor and will miss him greatly long after I’ve moved away from Chicago to another city.
