Doesn't listen to the patient or family
Saw Dr. Simpson in the ER for my elderly father with a sudden nosebleed. Dr. Simpson ran no tests, did no scans and basically dismissed it as not a big deal despite our insistence that something was wrong. He condescendingly told us that my dad's low heart rate needed to be dealt with as an outpatient. When the attending dr saw how low his heart rate was, he insisted that my dad be observed for 24 hours. 36 hours later, we went to a different ER (after the 3rd bleed) and CT scan revealed an acute nasal fracture. Dr Simpson told us that scanning wouldn't show anything. Glad we went to another hospital to get another opinion. Dr. Simpson needs to learn to listen and be willing to find the source of the issue instead of making quick assumptions!
