Terrible Experience
If I could give him ZERO stars I would!. Very unprofessional and beyond rude. He yelled at my 84 year old grandfather whom was actually very excited to start seeing this Dr. at first but on his 2nd visit Dr. Stierwalt yelled leave and do not come back because he had some paper work from his NP. As unbelievable as this sounds, it came directly from my grandfather's mouth. We are in full disbelief at this inexcusable elder mistreatment from someone who took an oath to care for and heal.

too concerned with masks
Can only talk about COVID and demands wearing a mask while in a room by yourself.

Horrible Experience
Dr Stierwalt he has the bedside manner of a rock. He talks constantly about himself and has zero compassion for his patients. He is threatening and well, there is a reason he is the only Dr in Fort Payne that is accepting new patients…he obviously can’t keep them.

When I saw Dr Stierwalt the first thing I noticed was the smell when I first went in. I have bad asthma and there were scented plugins everywhere, and I ended up having to use my rescue inhaler. I stayed anyway and was very pleased with the nurse. Even though Dr Stierwalt was very different and liked to talk about himself I felt the appointment went okay because he did a good examination. He said he would fill a couple of maintenance prescriptions for me then out of the blue he said I don’t think this is the best place for you, maybe you should find another doctor and went out of the room. I was shocked and stepped out in the hallway and said what and he repeated it. Of course I was upset and questioned him and he said something about me not taking antibiotics. I told him I hadn’t had the need for any and hadn’t took any in 15 years and he said he couldn’t help me. I commented on him wasting my whole afternoon and he said no that I had wasted his time. Anyway, I just left.

We took our son to another doctor in Fort Payne about his ears. The doctor saw him twice and both times said that he had a little fluid behind his ears. I told her that we were taking our son to an ENT, and the PA in the room went ballistic. Instead we took him to Dr. Stierwalt's office. They promptly got us in and he looked at our son's ear. It was close to rupturing. Stierwalt put him on antibiotics to combat the infection.
