Overcharges! Horrible Experience
OVERCHARGES AND ADDED A PROCEDURE HE NEVER PERFORMED!I had seen Dr. Dale Rice at Keck through a referral at the student health center at USC and I was told it was a $20 co-pay while I was paying. He charged me for an endoscopy even though there was no endoscope involved and he just looked into my nose with a normal torchEven after insurance, the cost is extremely highI don’t know what to do because I was very clear about asking them multiple times what the final bill was and they clearly liedI called his office but they were extremely rude and unhelpful

Great Experience - Life Changing
Dr. Rice was very patient and professional with me. He diagnosed my issue immediately and explained the situation very well. His experience was very evident. I appreciate that he presented options to me which allowed me to make an informed decision that best suited me. I opted to have my deviated septum repaired, and I have no regrets. The procedure went smoothly, the pain was totally manageable, and I was ready to return to work a day and half later with no meds. My breathing is much better. I sleep and workout better, and I'm having an awesome allergy season. Many thanks to Dr. Rice.

Billed Me for Procedure that he did not Perform.
The man had me billed, separately, for endoscopy. At no point, when I saw Dr. Rice, did Rice ever have an endoscope in his hands. No endoscope was ever used on my body. Not only did Dr. Rice seem to have no clue as to why I was in his exam room, he seems also to have no idea as to what he did during our very brief meeting. Perhaps he was thinking of someone else when he wrote up a meeting that lasted for not more than 10 minutes. At 79 years of age he seems confused and disinterested in the people around him. Perhaps the man once did good work. That time has passed.

First off, I met with the ENT on January 19, 2021 (OVER 1 YEAR AGO). Before I met with the doctor, I called the doctor's office and asked about cost and re-confirmed 2 times what to expect. After seeing the doctor, my bill came back and was 3x more than what I was told by phone (of course then it becomes the word vs. word and the dr wins because they'll throw you into collections if you don't pay). I had called the voice my concern and to have them honor their word, and I got nothing but the run-around. They say they'll call you back or a supervisor will call you and then never do. After going through the process for over 2 weeks straight, they said they'll just throw it into collections and didn't care one bit to do the right thing or pull recordings. I just got another "bill" on that visit that was on 01/19/21! I called in and they now said they revised the bill and I have to pay it. A visit from well over 1 year ago that was charged incorrectly and excessively to begin with!

My experience with this guy was shocking. From a scientific perspective I couldn't believe his processes. I know modern medicine is about profits, but please please audio record this guy and take friends and family to meetings for your own safety. Modern surgeon's in the current for-profit medical industry are very highly sales driven, the cardiac surgery unit alone in some cases generates 35% of revenue for some hospital's. If you're considering surgery read the "Informed Consent" paperwork multiple times, - bring it home. Stay safe.

I had surgery with Dr. Rice for a deviated septum and other sinus issues. I would not recommend him to anyone. He is very rushed and missed a critical part of what needed to be done. During the followup visits I asked him why I was having problems breathing- he evaded all my questions and attributed of it to "inflammation" and "swelling" even 8 months after surgery! Do not have your surgery with him- this is a teaching hospital- he will not be your surgeon on the day of the surgery- the residents are involved. Find a reputable ENT in private practice that is not affiliated with a university training hospital. Do not pick him as your physician. Read other reviews and ask around to find another doctor.

I want to warn everyone to STAY AWAY FROM DR. RICE! My then 13 year old daughter was butchered by him! He poorly performed 3 invasive procedures on her all of which were not only unecessary, but have literally destroyed her life! He lured us in with his eminence grise act and calm demeanor but beneath he is incompetent and admitted to me he should NEVER have done what he did to her as she has an auto immune disease he never bothered to test her for before hacking her nose/sinuses to pieces!!!

I had surgery on every part of my sinuses with Dr. Rice. It was successful and changed my life! No more chronic sinusitis and infections. He and his staff were responsive and professional. Even though I was referred to him for surgery by another ENT, Dr. Rice tried one last treatment to see if surgery was avoidable. I respected that I was not automatically rushed into surgery. I have recommended Dr. Rice to friends who had successful surgeries too.

Terrible experience due to office staff. They don't answer phones or return voicemails. I tried for months to get test results from my prior doctor to dr Rice. Finally gave up as it proved to be impossible. A total waste of my time and set back my treatment for a year. I expected so much more from USC. Dr rice was highly recommended. Shame that his office staff causes me to feel compelled to write a negative review.

Dale Rice runs a chop shop. After sitting with me for 5 minutes to check out a parotid gland tumor he convinced me that I should get my tonsils removed in addition to a septoplasty all in the same morning. Gave me nerve damage and I couldn't move my face for almost a year. My septoplasty was a huge failure and now I only have one working nostril. This guy is western medicine at it's worst. Take your money to a doctor who might actually care about you, not treat you like an ATM. You're welcome :)
