Dangerous and incompetent
In 2005 I fell from ladder and suffered a tibial plateu fracture with evulsed PCL and ACL, with attached bone fragments. The CAT scan, taken in emergency room showed bone fragments in the joint area, was provided to Dr. Federico. He viewed the scan and slapped a brace on my leg telling me to wait 5 weeks until trauma subsides, essentially treating the injury as a torn ligament. I returned to his office 2 days later because of severe pain and swelling. He made the brace tighter. After that, I obtained a 2nd opinion from family friend who said I needed immediate surgery (within 1 week of injury). Eventually, I was able to get in with another local surgeon at a different practice who was not able to lift the tibial plateau because of too much elapsed time. However, he was able to reattach both ligaments by meshing together bone fragments and suturing them down. Today, I was back to the 'good' orthopedist's office for shoulder and mentioned Dr. Federico. His said 'Federico is dangerous'!

What is the first time I noticed all these remarks so I figured I’d add a little bit. My ex boyfriend and I went there because he was having severe trouble with his knee but he Would literally fall because his leg buckled and he would go down so we went to the doctor like everybody else said he pays no attention to you he talks about everything else and we both agreed this had to be the worst horrible Dr. we’ve ever gone to. Anyway we went to the doctor Down by St. Luke’s I can’t remember the name of that doctor either because it’s been a long time but the doctor orthopedic at St. Luke’s was fantastic and he had everything fixed and he was in good condition but for so long I’ve been so angry about this man I finally got to express myself stay away stay away stay away it’s absolutely horrible the money these doctors get in they can still screw up so bad Have a great day Dr.

Stay away from this doctor. Do not spend your money on an appointment with him. Impolite, he does not even look at your face . In 3 minutes you're out. He is not a good doctor.

Don't trust him. He messed my mom arm up badly. He put the screws up straight in her are not even fixing it then had to do a reconstructed surgery then messed that up which another doctor said that didn't even need to be done she had to go somewhere else for another survey to fix what he did. He is on medical leave thank god said to my mom oh you had that before I did your surgery you will just haft to deal with it

Poor listener. Walks in the room with a preconceived idea of a diagnosis. Sent me for an MRI to rule out a meniscus tear without any examination. When the results came back and were negative for a tear, he totally dismiss me without any other alternative. Insisted pain is arthritis even after I tried to explain that the pain was not on a joint, persistent 24/7 and not relieved by Ibuprofen, steroids, ice or heat therapy. Condescending is the best way to describe this character.

He was able to see me in a short notice and scheduled emergency surgery for my leg. I see him again in a week and 1/2, and we'll go from there. So far so good.

Is more interested in getting you to fill out the patient satisfaction survey than actually seeing the patient. Lousy bedside manner. Does not address patient concerns. Spends very little time with each patient. There's a reason he has a low rating.

About Me

care philosophy

I run a small practice. This allows me to schedule enough time with patients to give them the attention required. I spend a lot of time at conferences to learn the latest techniques in foot and ankle surgery.
