Dr. Craig Tuohy, MD

My husband was recently diagnosed with a heart condition, and we feel so fortunate to have Dr. Tuohy as his cardiologist. I am in the medical field and have encountered many providers professionally and for my own care and Dr. Tuohy is one of the best. He is incredibly talented and knowledgeable. He is also very reassuring, but honest, and explained all of our options in so much detail answering all our questions. He never made us feel rushed. I appreciate his genuine care and thoughtful approach and feel that my husband is in great hands.

I shuddered as I read the one-star review below because it mirrored my experience with Dr. Tuohy exactly. He was dismissive, indifferent, and demeaning. He insisted that the very real physical condition I am experiencing (which several other physicians have attributed to a cardiac condition) was merely anxiety. And when I challenged that assumption, he then proposed that I had injured myself superficially and then "forgot" about it. After an echocardiogram, he did not call to explain results but instead sent a terse message in MyChart stating that I do not need to come in again. When I asked for additional information, he couldn't be bothered to respond but instead has a nurse send a curt message. Dr. Tuohy seems completely uninterested in the health of his patients. He should not be in the medical profession.

Listened well, explained really well and let me end the appointment. I researched his schooling and he attened two of the top three medical schools in the country and did a fellowship at another top tear school. Looking foward to follow up appointments with Dr Tuohy.

Dr Tuohy was knowledgeable, caring and an excellent listener. I found him to be very professional, courteous and respectful. He clearly explained my options in a warm and caring manor. I so appreciate his efforts and follow through with my care. I highly recommend this fine cardiologist.

Regressive physician still dismissing women's complaints as hysteria. This practitioner is a danger to patients and should be sanctioned and avoided. He did not listen to anything I said, told me my symptoms were not related to my condition (even though my symptoms are textbook) and that I would simply "grow out of" the CHRONIC condition. He was dismissive, discriminatory against me, word for word writing in my patient records, "I suspect a psychiatric component to her symptoms given her history of psychiatric disease” although I have no psychiatric history, and my symptoms were purely physical. This is a prime example of a typical male doctor who makes up their mind about a female patient before even walking in the room. He seems very poorly trained in the medical field for which he specializes in. He has a complete lack of empathy, understanding, knowledge about chronic conditions, and has zero desire to actually treat his patients.
