Doctor scattered in his interaction with me during visit. Doesn’t make eye contact when talking but focuses on his computer. No response to phone messages.

Fantastic, Collaborative Pulmonologist
Dr. Rundbaken has by far been the most helpful pulmonologist involved in my wife's care battling stage 4 breast cancer with severe compromise to the lungs. He has repeatedly helped us figure out complex home care situations rapidly and with great collaboration with our home health agency. I can't recommend him highly enough.

I do recommend Dr, Rundbaken
My interaction with Dr. Rundbaken was great, but Valley Respiratory should be replaced. My prescription to Valley Res. had to be rewritten for clarity on date. I was required to hand deliver back to Dr, Rundbaken office and take it back to Valley Res. Processing then moved forward even though I had to explain several visits I was leaving the area for the summer

Best in the Surprise/Sun City area
Dr. Rundbaken's staff is the best we have seen in several years, and Maria was very efficient getting us ready for the doctor. The check-in and check-out staff were great also, no problems there at all. This was our first visit and the doctor took plenty of time to go over all my (diagnosed in 1990) sleep apnea issues. He even had me put on my mask and inspected the fit, something no doctor has done in 30+ years. But the biggest thing that caught our attention was that he actually listened to what we were saying first instead of telling us what he thought was wrong like our old doctors. We highly recommend Dr. Rundbaken and his staff for your pulmonary needs.

Great pulmonologist!!!
Dr. Rundbaken is simply the best! During each office visit he has been professional and caring, but most of all he takes the time to understand my concerns. He took the time to titrate the best medication and dosage for me. He is truly a master at his art! It is also noteworthy that he has the best staff!! They are very timely with returning calls, and it is evident they care about patients’ needs. For a win-win (best pulmonologist and best staff) Dr. Rundbaken and his staff are # 1.

Dr. Rundbaken exemplifies exactly what every doctor should be. Professional, knowledgable, exceptional at diagnosing and treatment plans - and explaining in easy-to-understand words. He is an expert in everything regarding pulmonary. Being a patient for more than several years - I trust my health to he and his staff 200%.

Had been going to Rundbaken, D.O. for for about 7 years. I realized that he does not know his patients and asks the same questions each appointment even if they are not relevant. His staff is nice, but I have left his practice as felt as though nothing was being done to help my situation and he does not ask necessarily questions to see how you are really doing. He does not seem to have a grasp at all of your medical issues or even what meds he has given you. He seems to have little memory of your previous appointments.

In my opinion my visit with Dr Rundbaken was a waste of my time and a "quick" buck for him. I was told that I go to bed too early and that I could take Ambien. I go to bed when I am tired and I don't take pills, especially sleeping pills. Then he referred me to a Respiratory Service place to order supplies. I have all of the supplies I need and had them with me that day. Nobody in his office could help me with the headgear or mask. I had to wait for 3 months to see Dr Runbaken. Now I'm looking for another Pulmonary Doctor that will actually help me.

Office staff was nice so I give a 1 star. I waited over an hour to see the Dr & when he came in he was in such a hurry to leave the room I have UN answered questions. He MAYBE spent 5 min in the room at most. Basically I got that I need a breathing test & I probably have breathing issues because I am over weight. I was clearly upset! A little later I got a call from his office manager to say he was sorry?! Usually if I upset somebody I apologize myself!

Excellent bedside. Extremely knowledgeable. Answered all our (mine and my mothers) questions. As an RN i usually know what docs to stay away from. He is not one of them. Highly recommend as a pulmonologist and vf specialist.

Dr. Rundbaken immediately felt that my mom deserved Lung Cancer because she smoked. Dr. was rushed and very insensitive to patients and their families. This doctor misdiagnosed my mother over a course of 4 months and was treating her for Valley Fever, when in fact, she had lung cancer. It was only when he referred us to a oncologist was the cancer discovered. Dr. Rundbaken did 3 biopsies on my mom, all were negative for cancer? Strange right? But the oncologist found asap.

Dr. Rundbaken wrote my father off because he was old (81). My father never did get to the bottom of why his membranes outside his left lung kept filling with fluid. It was drained twice and medications were given, but the lung never went back to normal. My father had to be eventually put on oxygen, got pneumonia, and is now in hospice. Dr. Rundbaken rushed in and out of interactions with us in his office. He has no bedside manner whatsoever in his office or hospital.

I recently (2016) had lingering respiratory issues following a bout of the flu. After almost 9 weeks using a nebulizer 4 X/day (and having seen another Pulmonologist and an Allergist, both of whom mis-diagnosed my condition), I was seen by Dr. Rundbaken. After minimal testing, Dr. R was able to pinpoint the source of my problem, which was a sensitivity to a medicine I was taking for high blood pressure. He changed my medication and, within days, I was on a speedy road to recovery! Great Doc!
