My mother began seeing Dr. Rogers in 1977 and I began seeing him in 1994. He is an incredible, compassionate, humorous, and thorough physician, and saw my mother through a variety of illnesses. His diagnostic skills are without peer. After my mother passed away at 94 years old, I tried to make an appointment with him for myself, but the staff said that because I had not seen him in five years, I was ineligible to see him. I explained that I had seen him since 1994, and in the years since 2000, I had been in his office on a monthly basis with my mother, because caring for her was my priority at that time. Still not allowed to see him. As well, he was no longer allowed to do rounds at the hospital - he was forced to abdicate his in-hospital responsibilities to hospitalists. - New policy at Mercy.
