Dr. Courtney Turner, MD

Dr. Turner is one of the best psychiatrists I have ever met! I've been seeking help off and on since I was 17. I was diagnosed with bipolar 1 and adhd at the age of 20. I move a lot, so from the start of finding help to now (8 years, 3 states, 4 doctors), I can honestly say, I've never felt more "seen" or connected and 100% committed to my treatment. It is so hard to find a doctor like her and I feel so lucky I did because my life has never been more on track and heading in the direction I've always wanted. She sees me in the office and does telehealth, so I can still meet with her during my busy weeks. She's very easy to open up to and I love her vibe. She doesn't just push pills. She's the kind of doctor that conversates with me and urges therapy for a holistic approach, and the combination has changed my life in the best ways that I didn't know could exist. Educated, independent, personable, understanding, kind, helpful, and all around girl boss!

She is unempathetic, cold, robotic, strict, careless, heartless and horrible. You’d be much better off going to a veterinarian, you’d sure be treated better. I’d rate minus a billion stars if I could. I truly hope she hasn’t caused any patients to commit suicide.

I went to Dr. Turner for help with severe anxiety with depression. One thing I asked her upfront was if I could see her ASAP if I was having issues with my medication and she assured me that if I would call or visit she would help me. Well, That was a lie! I came in to visit Dr. Turner before my scheduled appointment because I was having adverse side effects from starting the new medication she prescribed. I was desperate to try something different.. ANYTHING at all but she refused. She insisted that I should keep taking the medication even after I explained what was happening. She is impersonal and very uncompassionate in my experience. The whole time she hid behind her gigantic computer screen ... I feel she did not really try to understand/ see what was going on with me. I would not recommend her to anyone.

I went to the Prestonsburg Clinic to seek help for depression/anxiety. I had severe postpartum depression and was still struggling. I started counseling there and was not getting the help I needed. Asked for her, because I wanted to see someone who is trained well in mental health issues. Went to see her and was immediately turned off by her cold and robotic personality. She did not seem very interested in helping me and literally asked me, "well what can I do for you, I only deal with medicine." I left crying. Not at helpful environment in the least. Thank God I'm not suicidal or I probably would not be around to write this review.
