Automatically felt like he was only there for the paycheck. As he walked in the room, he asked how he could help me and didn’t even know what I was being seen for. He was careless and made me feel so neglected as a patient. And undermined my intelligence. A week prior to this visit X-rays were taken of my foot and I was told to stay off it because it’s fractured. Then I go in and get another X-ray by him and it wasn’t even X-rayed on the side I had it fractured on. He then tells me there’s nothing wrong with it. I asked him if they could take another X-ray because it wasn’t properly X-rayed and he refused it. Refusing to properly getting my X-rays done after I was told it was fractured, can leave me with a longer healing process and possibly future surgery. All because of his lack of attention and compassion. I do not recommend going to him. You’ll be honestly wasting your money. I think it’s pretty sad that I’m having to go to a second doctor just because he was careless on detail.

I had a great experience with Dr. Cowden. I find him to be very caring and professional. I have never felt like he didn’t have time for all my questions. Yes, I had to wait for a couple of months for my surgery BUT that is because of the pandemic. I don’t understand complaints about waiting.

Good luck getting a surgery scheduled and them sticking to it! Living with knee pain for months waiting for something to be done. Perfect example of “just ok”.

I have seen Dr. Cowden a few times for a sports injury and have not been impressed with my care. Since I'm a medical student living off loans, paying for the x-rays after the first visit meant I didn't have the money to see another doctor in town. I have been unimpressed with Dr. Cowden's practice. I only briefly see him during visits and always end up waiting upwards of an hour talking with multiple nurses before even seeing him. When we do interact it's like I'm an inconvenience.

About Me

care philosophy

I went into orthopedics because I like making people better. A lot of medicine is delaying things or putting off the inevitable. We can help people who cannot do something and give them ability to do that again.
