I had eye surgery by Dr. McClelland.
After living with double vision for years. Dr. McClelland gave me hope. Surgery was performed and the results were great. Dr. McClellland was very personable and informative. My surgery was more difficult than most, so am so pleased that it was a success.

Surgeon par excellence!
I have worn glasses with prisms, correcting a 5/3 misalignment, for decades. My Optometrist, who performed successful cataract surgery, suggested I consider Strabismus surgery to correct the muscular issue and referred me to Dr. McClelland. I couldn't be happier or more satisfied with the results and with the quality level of care, comfort and concern I received while working with the Doc and his team. I now only have to wear glasses to read and for bright sunlight. Competence; confidence; efficiency; effectiveness; caring; informative; responsive; excellence; all adjectives that effectively describe the Doc and his entire team.

Excellent Strabismus Surgeon
I had two eye muscle surgeries to correct strabismus and both of them were unsuccessful. Fortunately, I found Dr. McClelland and he immediately diagnosed the problem and performed corrective surgery, which was successful. For the first time in 15 years I was able to have my eyes track together and see one image instead of two. I strongly recommend Dr. McClelland for anyone who is struggling with strabismus. Both my husband and I also very much appreciated that he always took the time at each visit to make sure that he explained things thoroughly and that he answered all of our questions. We are so happy that we were referred to him.

Dr. McClelland & crew/staff was AMAZING to work with. Always understanding & helpful. Explained everything properly and made sure you were understanding of everything along the whole process. Worked with Dr. McClelland and crew for well over a year & a half monitoring my double vision due to brain tumors (which were removed/radiated) until it was time to be able to do the repairs. April 11th 2022 I was able to have my corrective surgery. I was in & out within the same day. All the staff that tended to me was fantastic. I had to have over-correction to my eyes due to my situation & 25 days after my surgery I regained proper single vision. Even though I lived 500 miles away from where surgery was done, staff was always available to help via email, phone etc. to help along the way during my healing process. Truly happy with Dr. McClelland & the whole process of getting my vision back to the way it used to be.

Dr Collin Mccleland Surgery
I had double vision and needed glasses with a large prism in them to be abe to function. Dr Mccleland and his staff met with me and examined my eyes to see if I was a good candidate to have surgery. I was very happy with their process and how fast and friendly they all were. My surgery was a success and now I don't even need glasses. This was life changing and I am very happy with my results. I would recommend Dr Mccleland to anyone.

After having surgery on both my eyes in the early 90's, I spent the last 30 years seeing double while reading, even with 3 1/2 prisms in each lens. Last fall I went to a new eye doctor and was persuaded by her to try another eye adjustment surgery. She referred me to Dr. McClelland to try to straighten my right eye. I had the surgery with Dr McClelland and it couldn't have gone better. Unlike my previous eye surgeries, this one was relatively pain free. The OR was spotless, the staff was top notch, and very professional. As for Dr. McClelland, you couldn't ask for a nicer guy. He was very tolerant of my sensitive eyes, while examining me. The surgery went so well that I no longer need ANY prisms! I couldn't be happier. Thanks again Dr. McClelland and the U of M staff!

I saw Dr McClelland, January 2020. He did not explain my eye condition in clear terms to me. The office staff was friendly. Scheduling an appointment with Dr McClelland was challenging & difficult. I had to wait 2 months to be seen, which was fine with me. Scheduling a follow up appointment was very challenging because I had to wait another 5 months, after I was suppose to be seen.

I had damaged my eye in a fall back in January. At 1st it was really bad, went to emergency and was eventually sent to Dr McClellands office for review and see if he could help get my vision back as the natural healing completed. My eye pointed up and caused just about total double vision. Couldn't read with use of prisms was able to get a small window of normal vision. Dr Mclelland reviewed and set up surgery to 'correct' 2 muscles that were damaged in my left eye. It was a 'tricky' operation as he said, but he was able to 'fix' both muscles and so far my vision has came back to near 100% !!! Dr Mclelland is a fantastic surgeon and a very nice and caring man. The experience with him and his staff was great, everyone kept me up to date on info, answered all questions, very professional, and instilled a great confidence in us that made the whole process very easy to work thru. I am extremely satisfied and thank full to Dr McClelland for helping restore my clear vision,

I saw Dr. McClelland several times before he performed surgery on my eyes for thyroid eye disease. He was very thorough, knowledgeable, answered all questions in a way I could understand and was always kind and compassionate. His staff likewise have been outstanding. Dr. McClelland communicated easily and valuably right before surgery, immediately after and at follow-up appointments. I am delighted with the results of my surgery and am so grateful to Dr. McClelland for his skill and his great ability to form a person-to-person bond with me.

Dr. McClelland is very smart, talented and a super kind person. I had been sick for several months looking to find out what was causing my double vision. I was referred to Dr. McClelland. That was a happy day for me! He diagnosed me with an uncommon disease in my eye, set up a treatment plan and answered all of my questions. All is well now and I would highly recommend him and his team! Diane- Chisago City

I was dissatisfied and wrote a letter of complaint. He was too concerned about his ego to admit that nothing he did for me really improved my TBI and eye problems, which I still have today. Follow up was both poor and rude. He gave me a little bottle of eye drops. He was to give me a new prescription for eye glasses and I had to follow up on all of it. My Neuro Opth that did help me sent me back to him I think to just see how ridiculous his ideas were.

Dr. McClelland is a thorough, professional, and personal physician. He explains what the eye issue is, how/why it happens (or possibility of why it happened), and various treatment options and recovery periods. He answered all questions I had on my eye issue, treatment, and recovery time. He makes you feel comfortable the day of surgery and is positive and confident in his ability to successfully resolve the issue. Every one of Dr. McClelland's staff and surgery staff were also great!

I was referred to Dr. McClelland for surgery a month ago at the U of MN. I have had many surgeries but never on my eyes. I have to admit I became a little worried right before surgery....I realized later that I had not had any reason for concern.....Dr. McClelland is an excellent surgeon. And how wonderful it is to no longer have double vision! Dr. McClelland took the time to listen, to understand and to explain everything to me. I am very thankful to Dr. McClelland.

I would highly recommend Dr McClelland for surgery to correct double vision. Dr McClelland cut muscles in both my eyes, realigned them (to prevent) my double vision. Surgery went smooth, week later....eye redness gone and I am seeing great. So happy that this procedure is out there and Dr McClelland performed on point. Not enough words of appreciation and thanks out there.

Dr. Mcclelland provided exception care pre, during and post surgery. My issue was confirmed by his partner Dr. Lee. Dr. Mcclelland visited me - although not scheduled to visit patients that day - in his street clothes so I wouldn't need to schedule another visit and wait for surgery. His care team at the clinic and at the surgery center were world class. His confirmation of the diagnosis was spot on and his steady hand in the operating room resulted in near perfect vision for me. #grateful
