Bad experience with this MD and team apparently incapable of non formulaic treatment planning and with zero interest in communicating with patients or their input.

Adequate, but overly invested in clinical trials
Telehealth
You will get assertive, impersonal clinical decisions based on clinical trials data alone. You will also get cursory info so you will need to do your own research about their treatments that disregard your stated preferences. In fact, this UCSF team contributes more to a toxic than a caring experience if you value informative dialogue even without quality communication skills.UCSF does have excellent clinicians that are expert and give quality care but it takes luck or knowledgeable referrals. Even if you have researched your options, with this UCSF dept. there is an undisclosed policy that you are assigned and cannot choose a different oncologist. And you need to be able to interact with your assigned oncologist for the rest of your life. They may be adequate for a second opinion. But if you are assigned to Blakely, at least get 2nd and 3rd opinions regardless of time pressure and if possible, BEFORE embarking on your cancer journey with him.

Compare UCSF's Collin Blakely & team with Stanford
Telehealth
The experience with Dr. Blakely & team was basically the opposite of my experience with Stanford's oncology team: At Stanford:- New patients are asked for face to face for 1st visit to establish connection and rapport, take in a comprehensive history & with exceptional communication skills- Treatment plans & decision making with each video speak 1st speak with team member, then oncologist (for as along as it takes), both elicit Qs, recieve very individualized care plan.- MyChart communication with Stanford's team: friendlly, warm, & always helpful.- You can research & select your Stanford oncologist. UCSF assigns & you are NOT ALLOWED to switch. - UCSF 'Patient Relations' does not have an advocacy role. From whoever & whenever you get a reponse it will be a defensive review of care only & will not address concerns, issues, or feedback for improving patients' experience.- UCSF billing: The only place to get info is Patient.FinancialServices at ucsf.edu
