I found it interesting that I never received a survey from the hospital unlike every other care provider that me and my family have received over years of care at IU Health.I ended up in the ICU. Someone told me the doctor did something wrong in the OR. I was in pain for over 9 months because of complications. A 2nd procedure was done, but he couldn't see anything once he got in there. I had a follow-up test and noticed a flash across the tech's face. I saw something on the screen. When I questioned the doctor later that day, he told me it was nothing. He released me from his care. I ended up in a hypertensive crisis. I was seen by another urologist immediately. He looked at the CT scan, questioned Dr. Bahler's care and couldn't understand why he had released me from care, and why he hadn't done further testing. I needed yet another procedure which was successful. I was willing to forgive him at first because there are risks, but in the end he was just negligent.

In the multiple interactions preparing for my prostatectomy surgery, Dr. Bahler was always a thoughtful, knowledgeable, supportive Physician. We are very grateful.

I found Dr Bahler extremely professional. I went to him for my second biopsy. My first experience of the procedure in Texas was most unsatisfactory in terms of pain and bleeding. The biopsy by Dr Bahler was completely the opposite. Very little discomfort and almost no bleeding. He is friendly, approachable, and very skilled in his job.

Dr Bahler was perfect in every way. Confident, professional, caring and kind. His diagnosis and treatment were spot on. His staff is wonderful and Lilly gets you to where you need to be. 8 weeks post surgery and my PSA is zero and every thing is better than I could have hoped for. The understanding and guidance from Dr Bahler is absolutely comforting. I would certainly recommend anyone starting down the scary path of prostate issues get an appointment with Dr Bahler, he will get a diagnosis, listen to your concerns and work with you to get the best plan for you and set it in play.

Wonderful urologist & surgeon. Sought him out for 2nd opinion. Superior bedside manner and took as much time as my wife (a RN) and I needed with questions. Excellent reputation among his peers. My highest recommendation!

A doctor that is knowledgeable and listens. Very impressive

A year ago I saw Dr Bahler for a 2nd opinion on prostate cancer. When he called me to give the results, far worse than had been indicated by my doctor, he was clearly upset for me. Like he was telling a family member, not just some patient. The surgery was flawless, my recovery faster than expected. Not only is he a brilliant doctor but he is always kind, compassionate. Always has time to listen. He is like your best friend not a doctor.

I can't say enough about Dr. Bahler, I had done many test to get a base line at 49 / 50 at 52 my PSA spiked. I did some research and found Dr, Bahler, the I.U.system is amazing and he is a great part of it . I chose the HIFU method to remove part of my prostate ( the right half) I could not have chosen better, Dr. Bahler is a amazing professional who cares , when the results come in he calls you, good or bad He's the man, He's the one you want!

Dr Bahler was a true God-send to me. Having been misdiagnosed by another Urologist I saw Dr Bahler for a 2nd opinion and good thing I did! Urothelial carcinoma and he removed the right kidney. He has an excellent and compassionate manner with his patients. He takes time to explain and listen to your questions without making you feel like another file. I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Bahler posses an excellent bedside manner. When you hear that you have a very aggressive cancer, one can have serious emotional swings. Dr. Bahler really put me at ease, explained my situation, options and potential outcomes with my cancer. He performed surgery after reviewing my options with me, my wife and daughter (who is a nurse). I have every confidence that he did a professional job, as well as most surgeons, and hopefully better than most.

Not only is Dr. Bahler an excellent clinician, but he treated me as a HUMAN BEING - a rare commodity, sad to say, in today's hurried medical field. I came to Dr. Bahler with a complicated medical history that made a typical condition harder to heal. He found appropriate, yet creative ways to care for my health safely. Other doctors should take a lesson in professionalism from him. His staff was very kind too. I've never done a survey before, but wanted to give this doc much-deserved credit.
