I have been a patient of Dr. Hinkes, Montgomery Orthopaedics, Chevy Chase, MD, for over 20 years! Having fibromyalgia and other reasons for orthopedic discomfort, he has been my go-to doctor and always makes me feel better. His advice or direct treatment has been on target, and surgery for both hands' carpel tunnel repair worked perfectly. He is easy to talk to, calming, gives details in understandable language and offers alternative tx if appropriate. I highly recommend him for any orthopedic problem. Along with his colleague, Dr. Goral, who sees me specifically for knees or hips, I think very highly of this practice!

short waiting time, Excellent medical service. Everyone is courteous and professional. Dr. Hinkes is an excellent physician. He performed surgery on my ruptured achilles many years ago and surgery on my knee. I have had no problems with those areas. He has treated me for many sports related injuries and I am very satisfied with his medical service.

Dr. Hinkes saw me next day after rotator cuff injury. After 2 months of taking anti inflamatories had recommended MRI that showed torn rotator cuff and performed sugery. I am very happy with outcome. I had 10 weeks physical therapy with regaining all functions of my left shoulder.

This was my 3rd appointment with Dr. Hinkes for different reasons. He has always been extremely professional and helpful with my ailments. He always spends time talking to me about the various options I have to cure my ailments. It is nice to have choices and to have him always answer all of my questions and concerns.

Doesn't care about the patient. Only the workers comp insurers who pay him. Sees me more than a month after I was assaulted by a patient in the ER. Did little to exam me and then lied when I ask for a copy of my medical record. He said “Just call on Monday and it will be ready for you.” What a liar, he knew he wasn’t going to give it to me. My record but I have to sue him to get it because Workman’s Comp paid for it. They claim it’s theirs. Really? Wonder what lies he put in his report given he wanted my other records. No honor or integrity here. I asked him at the start what his motivations and intent was. That was a lie too.

Amazing practice - from beginning to end. I am a nurse and can be very picky about clinicians. Dr. Hinkes is excellent. Every assessment and estimation was spot on for my ankle fracture. He is warm, thoughtful, and accessible. To add to this the rest of the staff are excellent. His assistant has done so much for me with short term disability and has been an amazing resource. A coworker recommended the practice when I broke my ankle and I feel fortunate.

I would recommend finding another office. Making an appointment was fairly quick and easy (was able to make an appointment as early as the next day). The appointment itself went smoothly, and the doctor was fairly knowledgable. However, this is not a patient oriented practice. When I had trouble with my insurance covering an MRI (as I imagine many do), the office was entirely unwilling to help and advised I go to physical therapy even though it wouldn't help my condition.
