Poor communicator, no follow-up, bright

Highly recommended by 2 of my docs, saw for 2 different issues. Poor, non-linear, confusing communicator.1st: gave me printed sheets for mast cells, including restrictive diet, which would’ve been very problematic. I was upset. when I saw him the next time, told me I did not have a mast cell issue. Huh? Suggested I see long-term doc who referred me, who doesn’t take insurance, in clinic. I asked that doctor, who clearly was annoyed, & said that was problematic.2nd: extensive testing, only discussed certain results, quick plan & no diagnosis. Told me to follow up with another specialist, never gave me names, didn’t respond to efforts to get them & never made calls he volunteered to do.In the end, PCP & I had to figure out my diagnosis. Why, if he he’s this top doc that other docs think the world of. Looking for a new immunologist.

the worst
At best, Dr Bassett spent less than a minute with me per visit. At worst, he allowed a visiting medical student to diagnose me. Three times the same thing happened: a few minutes into the visit the nurse came in and handed him a folded up piece of paper and he pretended he had an emergency and left. I waited at least 45 minutes each time, and he never came back.

I recommend Dr. Bassett
I was referred to Dr. Bassett for immune allergy concerns. He took time to ask a lot of questions and was very diligent. He referred me to a hematologist and a specialty Dr. in immunology for genetic testing. He also followed up with me regarding appointments and to answer some follow up questions. His office is very cordial and they are very responsive. I would say he has great bedside manners, and is inquisitive and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend him.

disappointed
I had to wait 3 weeks to get an appt for an allergic reaction to a pnuemonia vaccine. Once I went to the office, I had to wait well over an hour past my appt time. Just as I was about to be called in, the nurse told me they close for lunch, and I would have to leave and return in an hour. I explained that I was disabled and would find that difficult. I was called in by an obviously put off nurse. Dr Bassett spent the majority of my 15 minute visit hawking his book. He did not take a real history. He said he could "guess" at my allergy; I asked about an allergy test. He declined. At the end of the visit, he gave me a pre-printed paper with the name of his book. I asked the front desk to send a copy of my notes sent to me and to my PMD; no result. Two months later I asked again with no results. It is now 4 months later; I asked again for a copy; so far no results.

Dr. Bassett is amazin; he truly changed my life. I used to be very allergic to dogs, cats, mold, pollen. dust. I was miserable. Then I went to him and started the shots. Now I can literally rub my face on my dog and run through the ragweeds. I have no symptoms. Everyone is amazed. You don't need to suffer, you just need to go see Dr. Bassett right away.
