Fabulous Dr.
My brother and I shared high liver enzyme numbers for years. Neither of our gastroenterologists thought much of it... then my brother died from liver failure. I came home and found Dr. Fimmel. He took immediate concern and offered me a solution for my NAFLD. A year later, my liver is clean of fibrosis and my liver enzymes are in the normal zone. He is friendly, compassionate, and their for his patients.

Was very abrupt and did not wish to hear anything about what I was experiencing. Would not recommend him.

Lack of contact between patient and doc. Anything
It takes weeks for test results and difficult to talk to doctor or nurses. Walgreens had to call 3 times to get a script straightened out. I trust his capabilities but no compassion for patients concerns, worries and contact.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE. We had a horrible experience and I am a NorthShore Employee! Our original appointment was rescheduled for 3 weeks later. Then we received a call and it was rescheduled AGAIN. When we showed up they said that the doctor couldn't help us with my husband's diagnosis. Then they rescheduled us again for 3 weeks later with Fimmel. Fimmel wasn't particularly respectful and ordered an MRI for my husband. We informed the office that we were getting the MRI at an outside facility, and we brought the CD with the MRI to Evanston Hospital Radiology as requested. Then we heard nothing for weeks literally 4 weeks, despite calling and messaging the doctor's office. Then after asking for the practice manager we finally get a call back and are asked to bring in the CD again. We are still waiting on a final read for the MRI. WHAT A NIGHTMARE

Dr. Fimmel is a wonderful physician. Besides being a superb doctor he gladly spends all the time you may require to address all your questions or concerns. It doesn't hurt that he is a caring and kind and considerate person who is quite reassuring.. I would absolutely recommend him for my family and friends.

Recently diagnosed with an auto-immune disease and abnormal liver enzymes. Dr. Fimmel spent an exceptional amount of time with me discussing my history, symptoms, and treatment. He was an active listener and shared his thought process to determine my likely diagnosis and treatment. He performed tests on-site and communicated clearly and at a pace that met my needs. He was empathetic and yet solid in his medical advice. Highly recommended.

Very accommodating , makes you feel at ease, gives thorough answer or explanation to your questions and concerns. He and his staff especially Kristhine are pleasant and very helpful. Medical team like them, makes you look and deal w/ what you're going through in a positive perspective. Thank you Dr Fimmel.

This man was rude, condescending, and downright insulting when I talked to him. I would recommend to anyone to find another GI doctor. There are plenty who actually care, and are willing to treat you like a human being.

Let me be absolutely clear: I have hepatites C, gnome 3, and cirrossis......This is a very serious diagnosis, extremely touchy to treat, scary, and hard to comprehend at times. Dr Fimmel has not only helped instill in me the confidence that I can beat this, but he know exactly what he wants to do. He takes my phone calls, returned my emails within an hour or so......not just me either.....every patient I speak with loves this guy. A great doctor.......
