Tough around the edges
Been to Dr. Ivker a few times now. Comments are off putting to my husband and borderline uncomfortable but he's a good sport about it. She focuses on the maternal side more than paternal, which is understandable early on but she seems to have an issue with males. At least from me and my husband's experience. There isn't too much tenderness with my child either and always has a comment for her being upset. We get it, most children dont have great experiences but a bit of empathy would be nice. Just seems like she is always in a bad mood. I've made the plan recently to switch pediatricians. Would not recommend her.

Best pediatrician in Westchester
I credit Dr. Ivker for saving my son's life. After seeing another pediatrician who brushed aside my concerns, I took my son to Dr. Ivker. Her instincts and medical expertise directed him to the specialized care that he needed. She continues to be his primary care doctor and follows him closely. She has incredible bedside manner (appreciated by an anxious parent). I trust her judgement implicitly. I would highly recommend her to all.

Poor experience as a teen
I suffered from severe menstruation problems starting at 14 that Dr. Ivker completely brushed off. Years later I finally saw an ob/gyn that made it clear I had legitimate issues. I also received my HPV vaccinations very late. I was offered the vaccines many times, but my mother didn't want me to receive them despite me wanting it, and Dr. Ivker just shrugged and went along with that for years, not taking my wishes into account and making no attempt to explain to my mom why the shots are important. I didn't get them until much later after I was sexually active, which greatly reduces the effectiveness. I also began using drugs as a teen and tried being honest with Dr. Ivker about this. She was judgemental and just chastised me instead of trying to help. This made me lie about my drug use at future visits, which ended fine for me but could have gone much worse. I know these are more "adult" issues, but if a doctor treats 13-18 yr olds, they should be able to deal with these things.
