Dr. Christopher Yonko, DO

He was prompt attentive, and responsive in a short and timely manner.

Saw my 4 year old at urgent care and was incredibly dismissive of my very specific concerns and symptoms (recurrent fever, consistent abdominal pain on the same location, etc.). He talked over me and said it was “normal to have a fever for 2-3 weeks” and that it’s “just a virus”. I didn’t believe him and got a 2nd opinion and turns out it was an undiagnosed UTI that almost landed my child in the ER. Shame on him and lesson to me to be bullish about making sure my voice is heard on behalf of my children. My experience with Dr. Yonko specifically has diminished my overall confidence in doctors’ competence.

I’m currently in the middle of a cancer scare. Multiple large thyroid nodules, enlarged spleen, swollen lymph nodes - tons of imagining scheduled for the near future and follow ups with an oncologist. Just recently I developed a cough with chest tightness over a weekend so of course I panic and go to urgent care at the West Side Pavilion to get checked out. In the past 4 months I’ve seen 6 doctors/providers and none were as compassionate to what I was experiencing as Dr. Yonko. I’m only 35 and it’s hard to hold it together when you’re facing a possible cancer diagnosis. He was extremely gentle, reassuring, and kind — he made sure I knew I wasn’t overreacting. I cannot thank this man enough.

Dismissive and Arrogant

My 1 year old has been sick cold like symptoms for over two weeks went to her pcp a few days in and said it was viral cold a week later she started having trouble breathing and wheezing So we took her back in her pcp said it’s from congestion and will go away No tests were done at all besides a flu swab the first visit So the next day she still was not feeling better I decided to take her into urgent care Dr yonko is amazing He ran all tests needed she had rsv and bronchiolitis not a cold.
