Dr. Christopher Van Schenck, MD

I attended my brother's appointments with Dr. Van Schenck for months. He was consistently pleasant, thoughtful, and helpful. I doubt anyone else would have been able to put my brother at ease with psychiatric treatment the way he did. Our experience with him was great.

I have been seeing Dr. Van Schenck every month for over a year now. He has helped more than I express in a 1000 word review. He listens and answers from not just a medical background but from his own experiences and his heart. I have nothing but trust and gratitude for his dedication and ability to help me with my day to day but my past. I will recommend him to anyone I know that is trying to improve and mend their mental shortcomings.

He made me feel at home and I was able to speak with him about anything! Makes you feel that you are worthy and cared about!

Christopher Van Schenck, MD is a compassionate, personable and understanding psychiatrist who offered me exceptional assistance when I presented after years of trauma, disappointments and depression. Very knowledgeable about medications, he prescribed an antidepressant that finally worked and that I could tolerate. He comfortably and attentively offered gentle suggestions and support and even prayed with me on occasion. As a medical professional myself, I know real quality when I see it and am grateful for the excellent care Dr. Van Schenck has given me.

I had been on a set of medications for 14 years, and had a period where my symptoms went away and worked full time getting off disability: when they returned I was shuffled about by 6 different nurse practitioners and one dr in the dual diagnosis field. Dr Van Schenck got me stable within a month and I didn’t have to go to hospitals and risk losing anything I gained when I was not having the symptoms from recurring mental illness. I recommend him and I often do not have good experiences of many Doctors because I have trouble explaining myself and don’t get properly helped. Dr. Van Schenck is a great doctor, and person in general. He takes his time, and never leaves you feeling like you’re just a number to bill the insurance companies for. He always tries to go above and beyond the norm. Great dude! Happy to be his patient.

Dr. VanSchenck has been treating my elderly mom for the past year and four months for depression and anxiety, trouble sleeping, and other issues. She was really in a bad way when we first went to see him and now she is doing wonderfully! He really listens, has so much compassion, and shows us that he really cares. He tried some different meds and amounts to get it just right for her, he is willing to do a mix of in office visits and telehealth from home visits times to the difficulty for my mom to get around, and he’s always quick to respond to us whenever we reach out to him. He always goes the extra mile in every way. He makes us feel like family! I highly recommend him! He had been a true blessing to us!

Friendly , helpful and has a heart for patients

Dr. Van Schenck has been an amazing doctor in my journey to seek help and better myself. I am 32 years old and have never been to a psychiatrist before. Throughout my career and life, to discuss these issues has always been seen as a huge stigma, so it took me years to get to the point to finally seek help and start the process. I knew almost nothing about this and since the first time we met, he was very professional, understanding and knowledgeable. My life has done a complete 180 for the better and having Dr. Van Schenck guiding me through this has been amazing. Would highly recommend!

Van Schenk really is one of a kind. He’s a good listener and really knows how to apply what you’ve told him to a good diagnosis, and is willing to listen and change things up if they don’t se to be working at first. He has quite the quirky personality but is good to get along with which makes things a lot more comfortable when it comes to talking so things can properly be worked through.

I have been Dr. Van Schenck’s patient for almost a year now. When I initially started seeing him I was a complete wreck. My bipolar, depression and anxiety had gotten completely out of control. I had high hopes of seeing Dr. Van Schenck and boy what a welcome surprise it has been. Dr. Van Schenck Is so thorough. He isn’t your typical Dr. He is very knowledgeable and explains each and every detail. I went from thinking I was not going to make it long to having my life back. I recommend Dr. Van Schenck to anyone who is having trouble with any mental illness. He will be there for you from start to finish. I will be forever grateful and thankful for Dr. Van Schenck.

I had an appointment with Dr. Vanschenck to renew a prescription from a prev Dr. Dr V asked for a uring screening and I agreed, advising him that I took ADD med that was not as effective and CBD gummy to help sleep. He informed me there should be no problem. Two weeks later, Dr called advising that I'd failed the screening and needed a clear result before he would prescribe new meds. I reminded him of our conversation and he restated that I needed to have a clear screening. I asked him if I had to stop taking the current ADD med and that they did help and he restated that I had to make a new appt with him and another $500 urine test and did not address my question about what to do about ADD meds in the meantime, no answer. Was very disappointed that he was so cavalier and had no concern about my expenses. I went to another Dr and told him what happened and he told me there would be no need for a screening for him to prescribe meds. Nice person, was zero help moving forward.

I’ve found Dr. Vanschenck to be very knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile to help. I recommend him to everyone that could use a good psychiatrist.

Dr Chris is amazing, he has cared for my niece and nephew for years and we would highly recommend Dr Chris to all. Dr Chris is very compassionate and caring his continued support is above all others, he treats you like family and always has your best interest at heart.
