Things were great at first...
I appreciate what Dr. Stroud did for me, but this practice is definitely not for everyone. This is a faith-based practice, so do not expect birth control to be prescribed. We knew this going into it, but I wasn't exactly expecting to be given the run-around once it was determined having children is not in our future. Things were great, at first. We finally were getting answers to questions we had re: infertility and moved forward with a plan. 1st surgery was exploratory to see what was happening - stage IV endometriosis. Medication to help reduce adhesions was brutal but helped. 2nd surgery to try and remove what he could. It did help, a lot. I've felt the best I have in YEARS. But now that I can't have kids, it's very hard to get an appt to see Dr. Stroud, even for an annual exam. If you're fertile and religious, it's the perfect place for you.

He was not understanding at all.
My husband and I were struggling with infertility and Dr. Stroud was recommended to us. One of the first office visits we had with him, he said "Some people are not meant to have children". For a couple who was struggling with infertility, this is not what we needed to hear. It has been a struggle to trust him ever since. He would not answer my questions and would ignore majority of my emails. He was not understanding nor did he care. I would not recommend this doctor. Before a D&C surgery I had, he was so angry with me because I did not want to do a D&C the day after finding out we lost our precious baby. Then he blamed me, we lost the baby. Having a miscarriage is traumatic enough and then having your doctor treat you so badly just made it into a nightmare.

Greatly Appreciate Dr. Stroud
My husband and I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Stroud, as a patient dealing with febrility issues I greatly appreciate his bedside manner, understanding nature and setting or realistic expectations. I live in Michigan and traveled to Fort Wayne on 2 different occasions for surgery because I honestly didn't trust any doctor more than Dr. Stroud. While I still hoping to conceive Dr. Stroud gave me a better chance to do so naturally than I believe any other Doctor would have in Michigan. I truly believe NAPRO is an underestimated OB/GYN world and I would highly recommend Dr. Stroud. My husband and I are very grateful for any chance he has give us under our circumstances.

He and his staff are so kind and caring. His entire office has so much better of an environment than any of the other Ob offices my wife has dealt with for our first 3 children. She almost never has had to wait more than a few minutes.

Dr. Stroud is nice upon your visit. He seems like he means well, says he will be there for you. His office is nothing but money hungry. That is all they care about. I hit my deducible when I went to him, meaning it was all free for me... but he didnt accept that. His office wanted 500 up front to schedule the surgery. Then refunded it to me because he "didn't use it" - i.e. he didnt do the surgery correctly because he was rushed for time. In the consult he said he give me a DVD of the surgery. I get one in the mail with a bill for 25 dollars to follow. 4 months post op all the pain returns and he shoves me off on some side doctor. I ask for my record to be seen for a specialist and they want about 25 dollars. Save your money and spend it on someone who actually cares about you!

He was very good to us during both pregnancies. However, I became septic after my 1st csection and he acted as if it was my fault. I received poor aftercare as well after my 2nd birth. Both were csection deliveries, 1st was emergency 2nd was because I didn't qualify for vac. People share that he prayed with them before surgery; he never did that for me. Overall, yes, he is a good doctor while you are pregnant, but the aftercare I received was horrible.

Before Stroud I kept losing at 13w4d. He took the time to listen and made a plan that allowed me to carry further. They did everything they could to keep her in the womb but she still chose to come at 26w6d. I ended up with a blood infection after having her and he was there by my side for the surgery and every step of the way. Our precious Lilly was early but perfect until she got an infection and God took her home after 5w3d of life. Once again the whole staff surrounded us with love

I do not recommend him. I was referred to him when I was having issues in my teens. He was okay until I became pregnant and had lost the mucus plug, I asked to be seen and was. But his staff refused to check me out to make sure I'm okay. 12 hours later I lost my daughter and when he came into the room all he said was "things happen". I never went back to see him again.

We exchanged some e-mails with Dr. Stroud before making the long distance trip to see him. When we saw him in person, he contradicted things he had said about my specific situation through e-mail, saying he agreed with what my current doctor was doing, yet had said in his e-mails he did not agree. Upon requesting a copy of Dr. Stroud's records for me, I found multiple concerning mistakes. Needless to say, when we switched doctors, I did not have Dr. Stroud's records transferred to her.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr Stroud. He is by far the best Dr I have had in the 36 years of being alive. He stayed at the hospital while I was in labor and was there to deliver my daughter the next morning. I had a very successful VBAC thanks to this wonderful man who was so very encouraging.

Not as patient centered as he wants to be seen. Really, its his way or the highway. He seems like an advocate because he doesnt want the hospitals to tell him what to do, not because he truely believes in individual decision making.
