Dr. Christopher Starks, MD

I have never been treated so poorly by a medical professional in my life. Dr. Starks' nurse is the abolute worst. I have seen numerous doctors and surgeons at Lewis Gale but have never encountered someone as rude and uncaring as this person. This office cut off my medication because they fasely accused me of cancelling appointments which I never have. The nurse confused me with someone else (apparent after she ask my DOB toward the end of the conversation) but that she'd already made the mistake with Dr. Starks and wasn't going to change. My advise...stay away from this office due mainly to the staff and mostly due to the nasty nurse.

I have to say this is the worst medical encounter I've ever experienced. I would have to agree with others that Dr Starks seems more intent in getting out of the room than engaging with the patient to answer any questions or explain the diagnosis and treatment proposed. At the 1st visit he spent less than 5' with me, hardly enough time to assess a new patient especially at my age and with several medical problems. On a followup, he performed a cystoscopy in total silence, then fled the room without a word. I thought he was coming back. But no, he was done. I requested that the nurse ask him to come back and share his findings. Moved to another room, I was forced to wait 15' at which point he returned and asked in an irritated and rude tone "what is it you want to know?" I won't be going back.

I have worked in Cardiology for thirty years. My sister was a patient of Dr Starks, and going with her through her visits and out patient surgery, I was very impressed with Dr Starks and his staff, and out patient surgery. She could have not been treated any better by anyone, I was so impressed with everyone. Dr Starks was so sincere and caring of my sister. He explained the procedure to me and I was impressed with his knowledge but mainly with his sincere caring and concern of my sister. I'm sure I would go to him with any urology condition. I give him a 10 Star review and everyone we came in contact with at LGP. Thank you.

Have been under his care for several months and throughly pleased. He takes time to listen to you and he will help you. Wish there were more doctors like Dr Starks.

Dr. Starks has always taken a genuine interest in me personally and medically. His treatment considered family and life choices and he is a real interesting person to talk to- he is the kind of guy you want to hang out with outside the office!

I highly recommend Dr. Starks. He has walked our fertility journey with my wife and I in an extremely respectful, friendly, and professional manner. I recommend him without a moments hesitation.

I've been going to Dr. Starks for 3 years and never once did I leave feeling the Doctor didn't spend enough time with me. He always seems caring and knowledgeable.

The Dr. had no interest in looking deep into the medical history and the underlining issues. Within 5 minutes wrote prescription for a medicine that almost killed me. When questioned about his decision, he said that he follows protocol. The result of me waiting a month for an appointment, paying a handsome amount of out of pocket fee for Dr. visit, was only to be nearly killed by a Doctor prescribing the wrong medicine. When I called the Dr. to inform him of how the medicine impacted me, I was advised to stop the medication and only take an off the shelf pain killer.

Excellent physician -- thorough explanations, good rapport, and just a little humor. He took time to understand my concerns and the reasons for them. Top 10% easy.

Excellent visit with Dr. Starks. Very knowledgeable, friendly and courteous to his patients.

Dr. Starks is a friendly, likeable person with excellent bedside manner, not to mention a highly skilled surgeon. He always treats me with respect and makes good conversation. I've had multiple testopel procedures with him now and despite being nervous, every time it's been almost painless, fast, and the incisions heal quickly without scaring. I highly recommend Dr. Starks.

Outstanding Dr. Polite, knowledgeable and extremely friendly. I think these other people have the wrong Dr. Thanks Doc for everything.

My husband had a reversal 2.5 years ago. Dr Starks was not the best with his social skills but we trusted him when he boasted about how successful he's always been with his surgeries. On the follow-up Dr Starks showed little tact in just telling my husband that the surgery hadn't been successful. He didn't answer any of my husband's questions and left it at that. Such a disappointment. My husband is still in pain after 2.5 years. Everyday. The whole experience was just terrible and sad.

I had the worst appointment with Dr Starks. Did not have explanation or discussion, when I asked the nurse He was so rude a said taking to me. I had to ask the nurse about how take the medicine. No recommend.

This guy is the worst. He only wants to get you out of his office ASAP.

My experience with Dr. Starks is by far the worst ever. He could not get me out of his office quick enough. When I tried to explain my symptoms he just cut me off. Then all of the sudden he said he would grab a brochure to describe my pain and would be right back. He sent his nurse to give me the brochure. I asked his nurse where did he go because we were in mid conversation and she said that he was with the next patient, if I had more to say she would give him the message. I will never go back!

After surgery, I suffered from an issue known as Urinary Retention. In a great deal of pain, I called my personal physician. He advised me that a catheter was required and told me to call my Urologist, Dr Christopher Starks. I phoned Dr Starks' office and spoke with his nurse Shaneeka. The time was about 2:15PM and I live 15 minutes from Dr Starks' office. Shaneeka told me that Dr Starks would not see me and that I should go to the hospital Emergency Room.

He could not wait to get out of the consultation room before we could finish our questions. We had to send the nurse to remind him of the prescriptions he was going to write. Avoid this doctor at any cost

Was friendly and personable through the process. During the 1:1 he answered my questions to the level of detail necessary.

Worst appointment I've ever had. No explanation or discussion. Had to ask the receptionist how to take the medicine! Real piece of garbage.
