Dr. Christopher Staeheli, MD

I had one appointment with this Doctor while my regular mental health specialist was on leave. I really felt that Dr. Staeheli understood immediately what I needed to improve my mental health during a very difficult time in my life. I would highly recommend him. He basically saved my life.

Dr. Staeheli stands out as the most exceptional psychiatrist I've encountered… and I've had my share! His profound knowledge of treatments and willingness to invest time are commendable. I finally felt heard, respected and understood after years of misdiagnosis and mistreatment. He also embraces a holistic approach, suggesting supplements and alternative treatments for optimal mental health. His expertise in ADHD for both children and adults is evident and he takes this condition seriously unlike many others. Every session, he took the time to discuss all options and the way each drug works so thoroughly that I almost felt like an expert myself. It's unfortunate he's no longer practicing in Hawaii, as I will deeply miss his care. If he's available in your network/insurance, consider yourself fortunate. Highly recommended.

Appointment did not go well. Dr. Staeheli was a bit confrontational and aggressive. He was aggravated that I could not remember names of prescriptions I had taken over 20+ years ago. He really did not listen when I TRIED to tell him that SSRI's have a severe affect on me. In my opinion, he already had a 'treatment' plan for me, before I even spoke to him. I would definitely stay away from him.

Unprofessional. Gave false information regarding medication. As a patient, his continuous dishonesty in not only medicine but also my medical history has made me feel unsafe. In our appointment, I was unable to advocate for myself and be taken seriously due to his confrontational manner.Staeheli inappropriately diagnosed me with a use disorder for medication I take as prescribed upon our first meeting. He did this without consulting diagnostic criteria or gathering the information needed to diagnose use disorder.

Dr. Staeheli stands out in many ways. He is a rare Dr. In that he genuinely shows concern and truly listens and offers realistic solutions. He is interested in my physical health as well as my mental health. My concerns- each of them are listened to and actively followed up on. I actually feel like he is my health partner and I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for that. He is frank, clear, kind and caring. I am in my late 60’s and it’s fair to say I’ve seen my share of medical professionals. He is at the top of my list

Was a superlative flight surgeon for we aviators when he served our country in uniform.

After years of seeing him as my psychiatrist, I can say with absolute certainty, that I would not be where I am today if he hadn't worked so diligently to get me here. He cares for his patients, therefore refuses to watch them fail. It's was worth all worth it. I never thought it would be, but it was.
