Ended up with sepsis because I couldn’t get either Dr. Slayden nor MMH ER to do anything for me when I had a kidney stone stuck in my ureter. I suffered for 3 days and I still have pain 7 months later. I had to have emergency surgery to clean out the infection in my kidney and place a stent. I had to have a second surgery to finally get the stone out and place another stent. When I was septic I had partially collapsed lungs and fluid on my lungs. My heart was having to work extremely hard and skipping beats. He has no empathy. He doesn’t give you anything that helps your pain. He doesn’t listen to his patients. I do not recommend using him at all!

At 70 I’ve seen many doctors. I was pleasantly surprised by Dr. Slayden’s medical expertise, and his kindness toward me. “Young and intelligent is what you want,” someone told me. He certainly is that! The first thing that made me sit up and take note was when he closed his first consultation with me by saying, “I am sorry you are going through this.” When do most doctors take time to say that? In the recovery room after removal of my kidney stones, I came awake to see him still there entering data into the computer. I felt reassured that his computer skills were as excellent as his surgical skills. I was released to go home. Within an hour my neighbor picked up the prescriptions Dr. Slayden had electronically sent to my pharmacy. I was amazed at the many different meds that covered everything I would need to treat pain and symptoms through the next month. He thought of everything for my comfort. He takes time to explain procedures and future treatment.

He is very professional. Made me and my husband very comfortable during the in office procedure. Very nice, and very thorough about how to address any concerns if they occur once we were at home. We felt that we were more than just new patients, we were welcomed and taken down as a patient that he cared for!
