I have been a patient of Dr. Schaefer’s for many years, and I am very satisfied with his attentiveness, professionalism, and always giving me sufficient time to ask questions. He is very thorough and takes time to explain issues and concerns. The staff at the facility are also great!

Poor experience
Dr Schafer did not take responsibility for the misdiagnosed of my husband. The led to my husband being diagnosed with stage 4 renal cell cancer at age 52 yrs old at St. Mary’s hospital ED. . My husband was a patient of this practice for 7 years. When asked if it would be kidney cancer he was assured it was an enlarged prostate. Please learn from this mistake and listen to your patients.

I would not recommend this doctor. He was not a good listener and not friendly. He didn't explain his reasoning very well. Sub-par bedside manner. We will definitely get a second opinion from another doctor.

Good surgeon, otherwise very poor experience with this doctor. Lacks professionalism, compassion and almost always keep you waiting for over an hour despite. Staff is nice but also incompetent. Two surgeries later and I will not return to this practice again, nor recommend this doctor.

I met Dr. Schaefer for the first time in the emergency room late on a Sunday night for him to perform surgery to place a stent in my kidney because of stuck stone causing sepsis. He kept up with me while I was in the ICU, then through another surgery and subsequent follow up visits. He's very friendly and responsive, makes you feel at ease and is very confident. I would highly, HIGHLY recommend him.
