Dr Medina sent me home from an emergency room visit with out even examining me. I was almost septic from an infection due to a medical abortion. I was transferred to him from Samaritan hospital where he didn’t even enter my room for 4 hours. I received no exam, he simply came in after I had to buzz the nurse twice for assistance, he looked at me and said you’re fine you’re being discharged. I asked him if he was going to at least put me on antibiotics and something for the pain, he said he would call it in. He never even did! I went home where a few hours later I woke up in a pool of sweat with 104.5 fever. I was so ill that I had to call an ambulance to Albany medical center. Upon arrival I was given blood work, ultrasound and urine sample. My hemoglobin levels were as low as a 9, they are supped to be in the 14-17 range and my white blood cell count was elevated which indicates signs of infection. My ultrasound was incredibly painful just as it was at Samaritan hospital (who are great btw but don’t do any surgical procedures there) after a pelvic exam and 8 hours in the waiting room I was able to get the assistance that I had needed. I was carefully evaluated by the entire Obgyn staff at Albany med along with the head of the department. They decided to give me a shot of a very strong antibiotic while I was there and then allowed me to go home with 2 weeks of doxycycline and another antibiotic to treat PID. I have only been home for a day so things can still change. Dr Medinas smug attitude and awful bedside manor nearly cost me my life. I do not recommend any women to go anywhere near this person that calls himself a doctor!
