Dr. Christopher Lowden, MD

Dr Lowden gave me the correct diagnosis, after years of being treated for the wrong thing! I’m so glad I finally met with him. He’s compassionate and thorough. I’m thankful that he is my doctor. His office staff is also really helpful and timely! Clyde, his nurse, always gets back to me right away! I don’t think I could find better care.

He seemed to have absolutely no compassion and treated me like an illness rather than a person. He was arrogant and cold. In addition, he did not consider alternative medications during pregnancy, which is what psychiatrists are supposed to do. Overall, I would not recommend him to anyone, even my worst enemies.

This is the first psychiatrist I've seen that I felt like I actually mattered. Dr. Lowden listened, asked helpful questions that allowed me to fully explain my symptoms. He's patient, and understanding. He did a great job explaining medications and didn't push to change what was already working. The staff at the CDH office is incredible as well - friendly & I never feel like I'm bothering anyone, which isn't the case at most places.

Dr. Lowden is the best psychiatrist I have had the opportunity to work with. His balance of immense knowledge in his field as well as obvious care for the wellbeing of his patients is what sets him above the rest. It's clear that he really wanted to know me as a person. Not only did he do a fantastic job of explaining how my medications should be working for me, I felt that I have made more progress with him than through any other period during my treatment. Highly recommend.

Dr. Lowden is a well-meaning physician, but his treatment resulted in a thoroughly incorrect and traumatic diagnosis. Properly executed, differential diagnosis requires more than 1-2 sessions, and a prudent and detailed evaluation of a patient and their history. It is utterly reckless to disclose such high-stakes observations to patients within such a short time frame. You will find that most psychiatrists practice like Lowden. Look for the too few skilled enough to take their time with you.

He does not listen to his patient. He remains steadfast in his own view no matter how circumstances have changed. He tries to whisk you in and out as quickly as possible. Does not offer the opportunity to explain questions I have regarding his decision making. If you are looking for someone who will truly be able to offer you help. I highly recommend you go elsewhere, his prices are outrageous for 10 minute meetings so he can "check up on you" for that same dosage of medication you've been on.
