Today my mother had scapular nerve block with Dr. Charles Simmons & Dr. Junker was the Anesthesiologist on staff, for her procedure at Clear Away Annapolis. My having been an advocate for 15+ years especially for aging adults & though impressed by his 20 yrs experience, he lacked connecting, empathy, kindness & preparedness for my mother. She was anxiety, suffers with Parkinson's slow to respond, hearing loss, remission from lung cancer & she herself was a caregiver for years for our father, hence having a greater understanding on how to treat a patients not to humiliate, criticize lack of hearing aids especially a doctor in his position, experience & stature. Instead its the perfect time, where empathy, understanding, kindness & reassurances is needed & should be provided to each patient, helping them feel better, which is the whole reason she sought out treatment thank God by the kind-hearted, Dr. Charles Simmons, its my hope today was Dr. Junkers off day & this is not his norm!!!
