I am not a patient.. I almost was and Thank God that it worked out for my best.. I left 2-3 voice messages for this office to call me back. No one ever did.. Finally . I called again .. a woman answered ..I expressed how I've been leaving messages.. She knew I did.. how awful is an office that can't do their job by calling people back?! She gives me a bogus excuse instead of telling me we're not taking patients right now.. No..she tells me we're booked until April.. ok..than I take April.. out of her next breath..What's your date of birth.. I gave it.. We're not taking anyone above 50 yo. What a joke.?? Actually Thank you lady! If you're reading this! You saved me from dumping your office quickly.

Most definitely. Dr. Hummel has been my doctor for about a decade at least. Met him at a hospital behavioral health program. He was the only competent doctor with whom I came into contact. I knew immediately that he was the best psychiatrist who had ever treated me for depression, anxiety, and ADHD. He listens, asks detailed questions and recommends different treatments based on my feedback. It is a process finding the treatment suitable to a patient's unique issues and commorbidities. Dr. Hummel always researches how a medication interacts with other medications and medical conditions. Although his appointments may run longer than planned, he never rushes through my appointment, so I have no issue waiting to see him. Also, I have always found his staff to be friendly and responsive. I think any complaints may be the fault of the reviewer.

Dr. Hummel is super compassionate with an exceptional bedside manner. He is highly intelligible and truly knows his trade. I have found Dr. Hummel to always be willing to help or offer advice in any way he can, and he is a very good listener. I would highly recommend Dr. Hummel for any psychiatric needs.

Dr. Hummel is wonderful. Never seen anyone else, but he’s a truly empathetic guy. Yes, I do wait for my appointments, but I do at most doctors appointments. He’s worth the wait and truly cares about his patients and follow up care. He’s always explained every medication to me and side effects to watch out for, and is always conscious to schedule a one month follow up after new medication.

Dr. Hummel is fantastic. He is caring and personable, and listens to your concerns while offering valid and useful options. I have never had a problem with his office, whether it was scheduling, re-scheduling, payments, reception, anything, and I have to wonder what others with bad experiences might have contributed to the overall outcome. I drive nearly 2 hours each way after moving from the Chicagoland area simply because he is worth keeping.

If your looking for medication this is the place to go. Always ran behind, with a wait time of 20-30 minutes. Four months of my grandson seeing him, and he never diagnosed him as being bipolar. He wasted our time and money.

I saw Dr. Hummel for the first time &he was about 20 minutes late& then rushed me at the end as if I was responsible for his poor time management. He changed some medications without disclosing the side effects and then forgot to send some of the meds into the pharmacy. I started having side effects including feeling like I am going to pass out. I have spoken with the office staff once to leave my questions, left 4 voicemails, and popped into the office once and nobody had returned my calls.

I have been seeing Dr. Hummel for almost three years and he is by far the best psychiatrist I have ever seen. Both Dr. Hummel and his staff are extremely accommodating and friendly. During my appointments I never feel rushed or as if I am just a “patient.” Many other psychiatrists I have seen in the past could care less about how I am actually feeling and more concerned about pushing meds but Dr.Hummel has always truly listened and helped figure out what works best for me.

Worst "psychiatrist" I've ever had. Obviously one of the people who take this career for the money. Doesn't explain why he prescribes medications and if I tell him the medicine isn't helping and is making me worse, he raises the dosage and adds more medications. Rushes appointments. Don't go to Hummel if you value your mental health and money.

Dr Hummel is an outstanding doctor- the type that is extremely difficult to find and to trust. We too have had problems with the receptionist in relation to scheduling, attentiveness, rudeness and professionalism. However, we deal with her actions because Dr Hummel is so great and wonderful. Our advise is to learn to deal with her in exchange for being able to be treated by a phenomenal doctor.

You get there, you wait 10-20 min, someone else whose extremely late gets taken in before you........

Horrible time trying to contact him to schedule appointment. No one ever answers the phone or returns your call. I showed up for my appointment and waited an hour no one was there.

I can honestly say that Dr. Hummel is the best doctor I have ever had. After years of working with other doctors, I was referred to him. Dr. Hummel took the time to understand the issues I was having, and what was causing them, rather than simply renewing the prescription my previous doctor had given me. He suggested a completely different prescription, and to my surprise, it worked. I definitely recommend him!
