Dr. Christopher Houk, MD

My four year son was seen by Dr. Houk in January of 2024, and his thyroid levels indicated his prescription medicine to manage his hypothyroidism needed to be increased. We were not notified for theee months and I have emailed Dr. Houk FOUR TIMES now requesting updated labs and he told me to go back to the pediatrician for that. It’s his job as the endocrinologist to put the order in for updated labs and he has yet to do it… two weeks later. Four emails later and zero response or communication in any way. Sadly, he is the only peri tic endocrinologist in the CSRA and he is terrible one at that. Thankfully my son doesn’t have a life threatening condition because if he did, he would not be here anymore. Having said that, thyroid issues are very serious and his medical condition and care is being neglected by Dr. Houk. I would strongly encourage anyone to travel to see a pediatric endocrinologist that actually cares about his patients well being.

I like the way he tells you how to stay healthy and what’s going on with your diabetes

We have been seeing Dr. Houk since my daughter Abbey was diagnosed with T1D at 21 months of age. My youngest daughter Hailey was diagnosed at 8 years old and is now 11. We love Dr. Houk and his staff and actually followed him when he left Savannah to Augusta. It is a 2 hour drive and you may have a wait sometimes but he is well worth the wait. He is a very patient and caring Endocrinologist who has kept my girls out of the hospital more times than I can even recall. I wish that all doctors showed as much compassion for their patients as he has for my girls and our family. I would recommend him to anyone in need a an Endocrinologist that really CARES.

My son has been seeing Dr. Houk for the past eight years. We LOVE him!! He may run a little late but that is because he treats his patients like they are the only one he has! He has always answered our questions and has given our son the best care. We highly recommend him!

My daughter and I love him! He explains everything in a way we understand and make sure we understand what he explain.

Very nice, clear, direct and open. Spent good amount of time and focused on the important aspects for my son. His job is almost as much psychology as endocrinology and he was very reassuring and comforting.

Regret ever accepting this mans opinion on my issues, I feel worse then ever before I had this surgery he recommended. Horrible idea
