Non-satisfying visit. Never again!
It took me a week to schedule an appointment for knife stabbing cervical pain. Another week wait to see Dr. Guerin. He had my MRI that showed spondylosis and a perineural cyst where I had the pain. He walked in asked a couple of basic questions, said I did not need surgery, and became disinterested in my pain. He tested my reflexes and did a strength test, told me to schedule with Pain Management and walked out, in less than 8 minutes. Worst doctor interaction in my 88 years as a patient or as a professional physical therapist. A NON-event. From the reviews he seems to show a different face only if surgery is needed.

Went to see Dr Guerin about an MRI I had of my brain. The doctor took his time and explained the findings and provided me with a plan for the future. I would recommend him to anyone needing a good neurosurgeon.

Explained Plan & Executed
My wife is dealing with a painful spinal leak. Just wanted a plan to get problem rectified. Dr. Guerin met with us immediately after MRI. Asked a series of specific background questions. Provided professional feedback and put into action the same afternoon. Suggested not jumping to surgery but rather stitch the area and monitor over a few days. So far so good for something that was attempted to be corrected by a different Dr. for over a month to no avail! I strongly recommend Dr. Guerin who is very professional and even provided a little humor for us when we really needed it. Thank you Dr. Guerin!!

Got him after an mri while I was in sarasota memorial showed a cervical epidural abscess. Proposed the wrong surgery which I declined causing me to have a delayed procedures by his partner. Ultimately these 2 left me with a growing syrinx and a permanently damaged spinal cord and a life long devastating condition that could have been avoided. If you get him in an emergency ask for another opinion and don't actively choose them.

Never Again
Unprofessional, rude, cuts you off after asking you a question, asks why you're wasting his time...ER sent me to you, had you read my discharge report. Complete jerk and definitely needs to look into retiring or just NOT interacting with actual human beings. Do not come to this office under any circumstance. He will not listen, nor take the time to assess in any way, shape or form.

Learned My Lesson – Jun 16, 2022
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Guerin?
Have to say that I've had a much different experience with Dr. Guerin and his practice. I was seen by the ER doc who called him on a Sunday night to come see me. I was in excruciating pain because of my back. After interviewing me and looking at my xrays and scans, he came back and asked me if I was up for surgery tonight or wait until tomorrow and stay the night in the hospital. Said that he was in the hospital and that both the OR and Anesthesia were available. I would have done anything to get out of pain at that point because even the strongest of medications wasn't helping. We opted for surgery and he did a laminectomy and was out of the OR in 2 hours. His follow up was excellent and I was discharged the next day. Both of his follow up visits where great and I particularly liked dealing with Cindy. She's my kind of people.

He may be an excellent surgeon, I don’t know . I do know mine made me worse off physically. I hated office visits . He was often rude and non caring. The only emotion I saw expressed was anger . I asked the same question twice ! I will never step foot in his office again .

Waste of time. Tapped my knees and spoke a few words and my visit was over in 10 minutes. My pain did not concern him.

Dr. Guerin was scheduled to meet with my mother, a brain injury patient, on 4/13/21. She is fully aware but has difficulty speaking quickly and moving well. The appointment apparently was made in error by her facility as she should have seen another doctor who treated her previously. Because he nor his office looked at my mother's records until the time of her appointment, this was unknown to all. Dr. Guerin stormed into the exam room and in a raised voice demanded to know why we were there. He looked at my mother in her wheelchair and in a raised voice demanded: What's her problem, she cant talk? He shined his light in her eyes and said , I'm not meeting with her she's not my patient, go see Dr. __. I'm not gonna charge you though. Dr Guerin was rude, abrupt and disrespectful. He was also entirely unprepared for my mother's exam. I would not subject any patient to his abusive demeanor.

I saw Dr Guerin on an emergency basis. I had fallen and was losing arm strength and was having a great deal of difficulty walking. He saw me in a timely manner and within days I had a cervical fusion at multiple levels. I have seen him several times for follow up visits and found him knowledgeable, timely and pleasant I am grateful for his quick and appropriate care and fell his actions and surgery helped me avoid a most unpleasant future.

Do not waste your time with this non-caring, abrupt, rude, emotionless so-called doctor. Walked in and spent less than 2 minutes with me after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment. driving 35 minutes there and then filling out forms for 30 minutes. He walked in, emotionless and told me there is nothing he can do for me. When I asked him a question about why I am having so much pain, he responded. "I don't know". Thanks. Meanwhile another doctor has ordered a surgery for me next month.

This recent experience was the second surgery I've had with Dr. Guerin. Both times, I found Dr. G. to be the consummate professional. His work is top-notch. Aside from accuracy, incisions are minimal, very neat and heal quickly. I recently had an emergency with a herniated disc and Dr. Guerin was most expeditious in getting me in and correcting the problem. Relief from the excruciating pain from which there was no relief with any drugs was immediate and I am recuperating well.

Dr Guerin walked in to the examination room, didn't introduce himself to me or my husband, didn't make eye contact, and didn't even crack a smile. He asked me how I hurt my back, checked the reflex of my legs, and said I didn't require surgery. What?!!! I wasn't seeking surgery, I was seeing him because my family practioner sent me to him for arthritic bones spurs. I asked him if he reviewed my X-rays and he said, "No". What?!!! He spent LESS THAN 5 MINUTES WITH ME!!! Horrible....

Just moved to area from Texas, where two different back doctors told me I needed surgery. All I could find to bring Dr. Guerin was a CD of an MRI I had done 5 years ago. When he came into the room he tapped on my knees, took my hands and asked me to pull, and said, "No surgery can correct what's wrong with your back". When I told him that two doctors in Texas told me I needed surgery he replied, "Maybe you should go back to Texas and see them"! I was shocked and offended at his comment!

Came in the room introduced himself, and was out in less than 10 minutes and told me to go back to my doctor. I tried to ask him about my mri's and he said there is nothing there despite 3 other doctor including the report from the mri center that outlined multiple issues in my neck and back. I tried to ask him and answer I got was I looked at the film. There is nothing I can do go see your doctor and walked out of the room before I could say anything else.
