My son was put in an exam room and had to wait almost 3 hours. Dr Furey was nasty and said there was nothing that he could do for him. He suffered for a number of years thinking no one could help. He then saw a wonderful surgeon at UH Geauga and is now recovering from a 6 hour surgery to fuse 8 vertebrae. Avoid this unprofessional doctor.

Dr. Furey is an accomplished MD and is allegedly highly recommended by other Doctors. However, of all my many visits to his office the last couple of years, I have always found him to be very dismissive and hypocritical. Isn’t a huge fan of taking time with you, more of an in-and-out kind of guy. Quick to grab his prescription pad. And, He’s twice contracted himself when choosing the best surgery option. I’m sure he’s qualified technically , but but I feel like he applies a too broad solution approach instead of providing an individual experience.

For a professional tennis instructor, movement is everything. When I met Dr. Furey four years ago I was in chronic pain and could barely lift my arms; I was certain my teaching career was over. At my consultation, he was open and kind and informative, and let me share my fears. The morning of surgery he walked over to me, put his hand on my shoulder and told me everything would be fine; I felt an enormous sense of calm going into the operating room. My C4-7 spinal fusion was a great success, and I am teaching again and enjoying life without pain. I feel blessed to know Dr. Furey and will be forever grateful for his help.

Back is still messed up after surgery from CFurey. Not to mention the office NEVER EVER answers the phone. I mean literally never. Hard to get ahold of him or anyone that works for him.

I am 30 weeks out of surgery. He preformed my L3-L5 fusion in October of 2017. Dr. Furey was conservative in his approach. I had met with 2 other surgeons, and chose Dr. Furey based on his diagnosis. He is thorough, and I have had great results. Before surgery, I had severe sciatic nerve pain. After the recovery from surgery I have been pain free. I have minor muscle soreness, but no joint or nerve pain. I followed the post operative instructions to the letter.

Expected a surgical alternative after going through pain management as his initial recommendation. All I got was fat shamed in a courteous medical way. Plus size people should consider another alternative.

Whomever the lady was who answered the phone at 4:15 PM on Thursday August 4th should be fired. She was extremely rude from the moment she answered the phone. If you're willing to put up with that kind of attitude to see Dr. Furey God bless you. I don't have that kind of patience.

Dr. Furey is an absolute perfectionist. His surgical skills are superb. Everyone from his scheduling team to his medical nurse assistant were always rapid or immediately available to answer questions and needs. I never got the feeling of being a bother. My spine surgery was no simple task. His hands were steady, and Dr.Furey was totally involved from the first office visit, pre -surgery, post and follow ups. Bottom line, I am pain free and a new person. Thank you Dr. Furey and staff
