the staff is very rude. I called about a up coming appointment and was told by the reception nest that she told me once and she did not have to tell me again. Sorry I am old I have bit of a hearing problem. The doctor needs to hire some one who has gone past preschool in manners

Dr. Cook's face mask was below his nose for most of my visit & often fell completely off his chin. I was in a very small examining room and felt extremely uncomfortable during this pandemic.

The worst decision I made in my entire life was having a simple hammer toe surgery by Dr. Cook. I was told it would be a 4-6 week recovery and I’d be good to go. One year later I can barely walk and can only wear sandals. Because I have to hobble to walk, now my hips and knees are suffering. I went from being extremely active to struggling to stand. Every waking hour I am in pain and I wish I could turn back time. If you can, RUN from this guy and seek help elsewhere.

Dr. Cook is a caring doctor who took the time to explain everything in detail to me. He spent over 30 minutes with me and was interested (and successful) in helping me become pain free! He is approachable and understanding. His support staff of MA's also took the time to understand my pain and made me feel so comfortable during my first time at a podiatrist office. From the front office to back of clinic, San Juan Foot & Ankle is exemplary! THANK YOU SJF&A

I had a very difficult and a severe injury due to getting tangled up in a bull dozier and getting pinned under the battery box. Dr. Cook saw me immediately following this injury. He was so wonderful in explaining the steps it would take to repair the injury to the ankle and foot. Dr. Cook is extremely detail oriented, communicates on a patient level understanding each step, and listens to any questions you may have. Setting this great qualities aside, I cannot say enough good things about my treatment and surgery. It took from October 30 to April 22 to allow the healing of tissue, nerves, etc. to heal on their own. April 22nd I had surgery and it is July 25th and I am almost back to where I started. I am a 59 year old woman who is very active. I told Dr. Cook that I selected him as my surgeon after reading reviews. I went to Dr. Cook because he specializes in ankles and feet and I wanted someone that respected the seriousness of my injury. His staff is wonderful too!

Dr Cook is by far the best foot/ankle doctor here on the Western Slope of Colorado. Thank heavens we have the best...I live in Montrose, Colorado & am very pleased to have Dr Cook as my podiatrist. I am thankful for all he has done to remedy the damage to my feet from chronic foot/ankle pain & corrective surgery (implants). I have absolute confidence in Dr Cook, having been a patient since 2014, he has successfully administered the best care possible for my foot issues.

Dr Cook diagnosed my planter fasciitis pain and was most helpful to help me be relieved of my pain. He listened to me explain my problem and he explained well the treatment he suggested. His assistant, Dennis, is friendly, knowegable and always willing to help me or the Doctor. Front office staff is efficient but could use some suggestions on friendly greetings to the patient who is checking in. I have never had to wait more than 15 minutes in waiting room.

I have been under treatment by Dr. Cook for several years for my diabetic foot problems. I have always found him to be very personable, kind, gentle and expert in taking care of my feet. He gives all side of treatment options in great detail so I can make an educated decision. His front and back office personnel are likewise professional and offer a special personal touch. If you leave near Montrose, I can't recommend Dr. Cook and the San Juan Foot and Ankle Center highly enough!

I would highly recommend Dr. Cook to anyone having issues with their feet or ankles. I have broken several bones, torn ligaments and received nothing but excellent care. On my most recent visit, many of his support staff were present with bad colds. They were coughing and sneezing into their hands. This was not appreciated. Otherwise Dr. Cook is far better than going to an orthopaedic doctor for foot injuries.

Office never told me they didn't accept my insurance. Didn't get any bill or invoice until I had been going there for three months - then got 2 bills in a week - the 2nd one having 30-60 days past due highlighted. Ended up costing me about $500 in addition to all the co-pays and insoles which amounted to another $600 or so. None of which was covered by insurance because they were 'out of network'. All that and I'm no better than I was before I went. Felt like I got blown off on my last visit.

The office staff is just terrible. Couldn't get in when my toe was infected, they just refused to make me an appointment, saying I should "just come in and we will see if we can squeeze you in" Living in Gunnison, Lets say I would rather not spend the driving to wait all day to be told to come back the next day. The Dr seems ok, but he isn't great. The staff and all their issues is why I will not be going back ever. I would drive all the way to Denver if I need further assistance.

My experiences with Dr. Cook have been just fine. He is friendly, seems to know his field, and seems genuinely eager to help. But his office staff has me frustrated to the point that I don't think I will ever return. They have always been courteous, but it seems there is a severe lack of communication and training amongst the staff and several times over the past year they have failed to follow through on such basic things as returning important phone calls and fulfilling promises they made.
