Lazy and disinterested
I took my son for his first visit in June, as I suspected he be either knock-kneed or have a hip issue. Mind you, collectively my 3 children have only seen a handful of specialists for minor non-physical issues so I don't have much familiarity with orthopedics, but I was quite surprised to see a pediatric doctor enter so pompously, sit in a chair, ask questions, and be given a diagnosis with subsequent treatment without doing an actual physical examination. I asked the doctor three times during the rushed appointment to watch him walk and ask if there were stairs so he could view my son do a set. He appeared quite annoyed at the suggestion, but I pushed my request since he was also disinterested in my concerns/questions. I was then sent off with a prescription for physical therapy. I obviously made the follow-up appointment with a different doctor. My take is that Dr. Collins only has time/interest in passing patients on to their next destination. I would never recommend him.

Overcharged/Incorrect Billing
We saw Dr Collins saw my son for 15 minutes and billed us using a code for a “procedure” $3940. My son raised his arm to the front and side. Code does not include sling, xray etc. No procedure was performed. Exam - yes. Evaluation - yes. Procedure - NO! Office was completely unwilling to hear us and work with us on paying the correct amount. Bunch of bullies.

Dr. Collins has a terrible bedside manner. He scared my daughter with his tone and demeanor. He told her all the worst case scenarios rather than waiting for fuller test results, causing needless worry and tears. I would not recommend this doctor.

Terrible bedside manner. Scared my young child with his tone and demeanor. Misdiagnosed my child based on limited information available rather than waiting for fuller test results, causing needless worry. Would not recommend.

Dr. Collins has a great manner with young people, he patiently asked my daughter questions and checked her to discover the source of her pain, he prescribed P.T. and when she's still complained of lingering pain has requested additional testing. While her back pain isn't 100 percent gone, I'm pleased with the process he's taking to get to the root cause.
