He needs a different job or to learn compassion
He is very dismissive and rude, and treats people badly. I was seen at Legacy recently and was horribly sick with bp 244 over 110 blood pressure with stroke symptoms which he dismissed. He was rude and dismissive and sadly I had seen him before, he's the same doctor who was horrible to my autistic child. She had a broken leg and we had to walk out and be seen elsewhere. He SHOULDNT be practicing with patients, this man is liable to hurt someone. He seems to hate his job, and has twice made me cry which is awful when someone is asking for help. Sadly, I have way to much experience in healthcare and no amount of being overworked excuses this kind of minimal care and negligence.

Wonderful and thorough Dr.
Had a great experience with Dr Burke during a recent emergency room visit. Dr Burke was professional, thorough, compassionate, and despite working in an insanely busy environment took the time to listen to my concerns, and articulate his plans and reasons for treatment. Anyone leaving a bad review truly doesn’t understand the pressures of working in a busy trauma center. If you want an extended audience with a Dr accompanied by a hug, go see your primary. This guy has to make quick and decisive decisions at the worst of times for most people, while balancing the fact that there’s 100 more just like you waiting in line. Thank you Dr Burke, if you decide to go into private practice I’d be 1st to sign on as a patient. Best regards Nathan Bruce.

He shouldn’t be a doctor at all!
Why is there no option to 0 stars? He doesn’t deserve any stars. 1 star is too many. My daughter went to Legacy ER per a friend recommendation. She is a student and resides 5 hrs from home. As her mom and a nurse, I wanted to talk to the dr that had seen my daughter in the ER in order to ask some questions regarding her condition and concerns I had after about 9 hours of her being there. My daughter told the nurse she wanted to talk to him before being discharged and to have me ask some questions. After about 40 more minutes the nurse went back to my daughter and told her that the “doctor” refused going back to talk to her and “definitely will not talk to her mom”. I was appalled to his response and his poor bedside manners with a patient. In all my years as a nurse, I have never seen such dismissive behavior from any provider. I will not recommend Legacy Salmon Creek to anyone as they are supporting this individual and his lack of ethics and professionalism.

He'd get ZERO stars if it was available.
My daughter went to ER with choking, dehydration, couldn't swallow, & in pain. I was on speaker with her thru her visit. He was rude, presumptive, & disrespectful. CT showed air in her neck. Recent x-rays from another provider show an old C4 fx & possible hyoid fx. He didn't look at those. She'd told triage she'd used marijuana to help with pain (no one asked about how she took it), & he assumed she was smoking. Based on that & her history of no trauma, he said she had pneumomediastinum. There was nothing they could do. 2 things - he asked if she inhaled deeply & held the smoke, she said no, she couldn't inhale. She tried to explain that she couldn't smoke & asked what history he meant as she never gave anyone a history. He immediately became dismissive, said he wouldn't argue with her and to stop smoking and repeated his diagnosis was the problem and left. I work in healthcare & was shocked/appalled at his mannerisms! He shouldn't be practicing any kind of medicine in my opinion.

If you want to be helped do not let him near you
This man degraded me made assumptions about me and when I attempted to ask any questions he said I was arguing walked out while I was speaking ignored my answers to his questions and did absolutely nothing to help me then refused to tell me his name once I mention wanted advocacy and made me wait for my discharge papers. I am a mother of two disabled children who has become more and more unable to keep up with my children and while we are blessed to have support from family I deserved the proper care so that I can finally be able to be the mother my children deserve and normally have one who can swallow without choking on what feels like bone. Especially after divulging a past of DV and a need to be met at a respectful level and then instead spoken over and talked down to.

Upon arriving by ambulance to SC Legacy Emergency, Dr Burke immediately and completely minimized my horrible, excruciating back pain after just having surgery 3 days prior. Turns out, results from a second MRI performed that night, I had an even bigger herniation of the same disk and required a second surgery the next day (4 days from 1st surgery). He has NO bedside manners, he acted annoyed and the feeling I got by his words, was that he wanted to hurry and send me home with prescription drugs, as if that was what I was there for. He couldn't have been more wrong! I'm happy to say my second surgery was a success and I hope I never find myself in his presence again! Soften up doctor, most people's visits to ER are legitimate!

He is a doctor with no bedside manner, he could care less to listen to a person and what they are feeling. He was in my room for maybe 5 minutes total and when I asked for him to consult with a specialist you performed my surgery 8 weeks ago. He was irritated and even more rude.

Last year in June Dr. Burke treated me in the emergency room. I believed I had a pulmonary embolism but he refused to run the tests to diagnose it. Two weeks later I had three pulmonary embolism’s and two DVT’s while on vacation in New York. He was quick to think that I was a frequent flyer and really had no medical needs.

Please take care of yourself and see anyone else but this man. Apperantly he believes that everything can be cured with antihistamines. Be careful if you try to question what he is saying or explain anything to him he will walk out. He did to a 60 year old woman!
