Dr. Christopher Allen, MD

Dr. Alan, is without a doubt an excellent doctor. I haven't had an appointment, in a while, but need to make one. I wouldn't want anyone else to do a heart cath for me, he is the best. I along with many of my family members have received treatment from him. May God bless him.

My only post-visit twin cardiac heart procedure with Dr. Allen left me with such a sour taste in my mouth I was beyond furious. I told him I was having some pain issues and pressure in the area of a large hematoma that developed near a major artery during one of my heart procedures and almost a year later it still hurt and was causing some distress. When I told him about this observation that I was experiencing his response was and I quote... It's all a figment of your imagination.... Seriously? My blood pressure still rises when I think of his response to an issue that I was having. I am not sure what is wrong with this guy but that single response to a medical issue related to my heart was enough to sour my thought on him. I will stop there. I get furious every time I think of his comments.

1st and only visit: Dr. Allan laughed at my questions. TERRIBLE BEDSIDE MANNER! He had access to my medication list and chose to prescribe a beta-blocker for heart palpitations and chest pain knowing I was taking thyroid meds. He prescribed the lowest dose due to my low bp, then told his assistant a day or so later to contact me via chart to reduce it further due to my low heart rate. I never took them because he failed to check my TSH levels first! I didn't look at MyChart for months, only to discover the message from his staff when it would've been too late. Had I started taking the original dose, I could've had an adverse reaction. Had he been thorough, he would've discovered that my TSH was extremely low, which was causing my symptoms. I lowered my thyroid meds with a different doctor and did a 3-week food detox. My symptoms went away and have not returned. I DID NOT NEED A BETA-BLOCKER!! Beware of any doctor that prescribes meds without doing lab work first!

got taken to the shadyside Er with chest pains . in walks Dr Allen with a huge smile. made me feel better then I did. his bed side manner is out standing and his time spent with you is remarkable, I would ask him a question and he talk to me not down to me. I would take my mother to him. He was giving to me for a reason. LOVE LOVE LOVE him.. and recommending him to everyone.
