Our Gift from God when we needed help!
Dr. Canivan took over for my Uncle who had died suddenly in a boating accident 7 weeks before I was due with my 3rd child. He was going to be his pediatrician just like me older boys. Now, Dr. Canivan not only stepped into the difficult role of filling Dr. Kisabeth's shoes, who was a beloved doctor with years as a partner in the practice, but she was now responsible for the well being of his great nephew and grieving niece. My son has been through a lot as Dr. Canivan and I have worked together on fighting out he has a rare degenerative brain diseases, SCA14, which I have It only affects 30 -5/ people worldwide and thanks to Dr. Canivan believing and working with our family we were able to prove that it DOES affect children even as early as toddler age. Before it was thought only to be adult onset. She gave me her personal cell# in the maternity ward at the hospital before taking my sweet baby boy home. I will follow her anywhere she goes. Caring ??, knowledgeable, works ????

Cannot recommend
After reading a somewhat disturbing letter this doctor sent to someone else, I felt compelled to write a quick review about our experience. With our older boy, he always called her "creepy" in her approach to discussing his private parts. It gave him a lot of anxiety and I sympathized with him, but we talked him through it. But her style was always strange and overly cautious to the point of making it weird. When our baby girl was born, I was surprised at how pushy she was about using formula. I wanted to breast feed (and did successfully for 2 full years!) but she was very pushy about using formula and it seemed like she tried to make me feel bad about not using the stuff. My daughter is happy and healthy in middle school now. We ended up switching doctors at the time as a result of the formula pushiness.

Walked out on me while I was midsentence
This lady walked out on me while I was still talking. Our visit was maybe 8 minute max. My thoughts are very rude and doesn’t take the patient seriously. Seems jaded.
