Dr. Christina Collins, MD

Referred by good friend. Dr Collins and staff friendly/ helpful and Dr C. knowledgeable , diagnosed problem , discussed solutions and addressed my concerns. 2nd visit scheduled to implement plan.

I had my 1st appointment with Dr. Christina Collins last week. I have been a resident on this island for 3 years now and have been searching for an OBGYN. I have asked many people who they go to and my PCP recommended Dr. Collins. I actually had an appointment with another OBGYN, but, their office called and said they had to reschedule my appointment for a later date and they would call me. I didn't hear from them so, after 2 weeks I called them. They still couldn't give me a new date and it probably would be pushed out another 1.5 months or more. I decided to call Dr. Collins' office and schedule an appointment with her. I filled out a form on line and then I called the office to schedule my appointment. The staff were the best. They answered the phone, 1st of all and scheduled me within that week. Dr. Collins was personable, very informative and answered all of my questions. I was not rushed and I feel very confident with her as my new OBGYN. Awesome dr. and office staff.

Yes YES YES!!! She took her time with me, making sure to answer all my questions in a very comprehensive way. I felt safe and cared for. I would highly recommend her.

Went to the hospital for DNC and woke up and she said nothing was done since she could not find my cervix!!

Her bedside manner is strict, but she knows her stuff

Dr. Collin's staff in particular was the worst part of my and my wife's experience there. Having been raised by a father who is a doctor and a mother who was a nurse, I couldn't believe the manner in which we were treated. Such poor care only exists because not many doctors stay in Kona for long. As for me, I'd be more than happy to see one move leave permanently.

I just read a few of the reviews from other people saying that Dr. Collins is dis- interested and doesn't take time with her patients. I just saw her today for the first time. She's amazing and I have no idea where any of this is coming from? She truly listened and cared about my concerns. Her staff was so friendly and comforting. I've been to the OB a lot. I am 41 years old and have a couple of kids. Best experience I've had. Mahalo for everything, Dr. Collins! :)

Dr. Collins always takes the edge off of going to the doctor. Her office is run so smoothly, and my time with her does not feel wasted. She is professional and full of helpful information with any question I ever have. I would highly recommend Dr. Collins to anyone looking for an obgyn.

Extremely rude and cold hearted. I went in for hormone replacement due to horrible symptoms and she could care less. She put me on medication but did not even schedule a follow-up to see how it was working or how I was doing. When I called the office to schedule the follow-up she was rude and said she didn't understand the symptoms of menopause. The staff was friendly but that was it. She needs to work on her bedside manners and people skills!

Has a reputation for being cold, disrespectful, dismissive. She has an insane record for episiotomies (she cuts you before you even start pushing, not as last resort for a stuck baby) and c-sections. She stripped my membranes on my due date without warning me after I had specifically said I didn't want it done. She told my friend she was "just having a miscarriage" when she had treatable placental abruption. I know at least 15 people with horror stories about her.

Billed for 45 min. office visit. She spent the most detached and uninterested 12 minutes with me that I have ever experienced with a doctor, of any kind.

Absolute worst OB I've ever had. Only has 3 things going for her; 1) her staff is awesome, very nice and professional, I don't know how they can work for her; 2) she's pro-choice, which I do think is awesome, but you shouldn't say first off so do we want to keep the baby or no? Always assume the baby will be kept! And 3) she has a degree so she obviously has to have some kind of knowledge. Never recommending her, or going back to her.
