She doesn't want to do the work.
Refuses to diagnose and or treat possible PsA, keeps sending me to other providers and asking me to relay what she wants instead of ordering tests herself, will not see you even when you're told to come in when having a flare: 'You must have an appointment'. Like others have said, she didn't listen from the very beginning and rushed out as soon as she saw an opening. Was told she would coordinate things between the various doctors and none of the 3 have heard from her. A doctor isn't going to listen to a patient when they say, 'This doctor wants you to cut me open and do a biopsy.' This needs to be interoffice communication. She needs to do a much better job at DOING her job.

Professional and thorough
I have seen Dr. Thomas many times and always found her to be professional and caring. I had seen two other rheumatologists and gotten no diagnosis. Dr. Thomas did additional testing and I got a diagnosis. Then after struggling with insurance and the medication approval she took a great deal of time to help me get what I needed. I have read the other reviews and can only say that she has never been rude or unprofessional!

Very Frustating
Dr. Thomas is rude, misjudges your health, makes assumptions based on false facts, and spends 3 minutes in the room with you. It was a waste of my time and money.

Worst doctor I have ever seen
She would only spend 3 min in the room and I trust me the entire time when I was trying to explain what I was going through. She would do labs and never tell me they were ana positive. I found out by going to my portal. She told me 'you don't have any of my diseases' despite the face I have rashes, swelling, suns sensitivity, swelling, ulcers, fatigue and unbearable pain. I got a referral to another Dr and after 1 round of labs and observation of my documentation of pics ect I was diagnosed with SLE and RA. Do not waste your time with her. She doesn't listen and cancels appointments last min. She flat out doesn't care. If your young you will get blown off for every reason not to treat you.

Terrible! Wish I could give a zero star rating
This dr doesn’t even do an exam. She may look at your hands, but that is it. My joints were swollen and she would not even look at them. She brushes you off, interrupts you or walks out if you dare ask a question. She is the rudest, most uncaring dr I’ve run across and I’ve seen many over the last 65 yrs.

Dby
Dr. Thomas was pivotal in diagnosing my Giant Cell Arteritis and has helped me determine a course of treatment that allows me to control the disease. She has been very professional and always answers any questions I have. The office staff is friendly and helpful. The in office blood collection is very convenient. I highly recommend Dr. Thomas.

She is dismissive, condescending, and doesn’t bother to read your chart. Get ready for her to ask why you are there to see her like your chronic pain isn’t a good reason. It’s in the referrals and your medical file but she would have to read that. She is in such a hurry but that doesn’t matter because she isn’t listening to you anyway. If you don’t have a simple and easy to diagnose case then you are out of luck. Even if you do she may still refuse to help. She does order x-rays so I guess that is something. After you see her for months or years then finally decide to try someone else you will see how bad she is. Almost any other rheumatologist is better. It’s quite curious how she still has a license. Read the reviews and be kind to yourself by avoiding her.

Unwilling to Help
Dr Thomas did nothing to help me other than rule out rheumatoid arthritis with a blood test. I went to her for help with my arthritis and fibromyalgia pain that is severely affecting my quality of life and she was dismissive and unwilling to help.

Never ever!
Misdiagnosed not once but three times without proper testing. Rushed out of office after less than 5 minutes. Didn’t allow any questions. I suffered excruciating pain for six months unnecessarily. Please, if you have an appointment or have been referred to her - don’t waste your time. I found a real doctor and was diagnosed & MRI results provided me with relief and course of action. Again, do not waste your time or money.

Misdiagnosed me with Lupus
Misdiagnosed me with Lupus! After she canceled my last 3 appointments I changed Rheumatologists and so glad I did! I am now on a medication that will help me! New doctor said I had irreversible joint damage from Rheumatoid Arthritis (only have RA…no Lupus) and now has me on an aggressive medication which I feel I should have been on years ago! This new doctor will actually spend time with me and answer questions, which she never would do with me.

Not all Doctors are Good
It is unfortunate that this place is so bad, as they seem to have every rheumatologist in the area working here. Dr. Thomas has an abysmal bedside manner, don't take you seriously (after she has diagnosed you), and will say symptoms that obviously are from your condition, RA in my case, are not from that and try to send you to another specialist, who will validate that your symptoms (example, knee pain, and swelling) are from inflammatory arthritis. After the first couple of appointments, Thomas will literally look at your knuckles and say you look great (every three months), no further assessment or questions are needed. Look at the reviews for Dr. Jalbert in Florence or for the Vanderbilt rheumatologists in Nashville or Cool Springs (which is closer for me in Madison) and you have so many with a 4.9/5.0. Look up every doctor at RANA (with the exception of their nurse practitioner who has a great reputation) and the reviews are horrible (overall). Thomas should find a new profession.

Do NOT go to Dr.Thomas. This woman is cold, uncaring, incompetent, inept, rude, and negligent. The visits are always rushed, she does not listen to me, always interrupts me, and doesn't thoroughly check me over. She once told me I was just a number to her. As of late she refused to treat rheumatoid issues I was having in my joints. It got so bad I could not walk and was in severe pain. Had to see a rheumy in Atlanta at Emory just get treatment since Christie refused to treat me.
