Superiority complex. Gets very snappy if you have trouble understanding symptoms. Not very patient.

Listened and acted immediately
Blessed relief! Dr. Rao took his time, listened to my symptoms and the effects of having 15+ migraines per month... and immediately prescribed a new injectable migraine Rx which has prevented all migraines and headaches now for 2 months. Zero headaches or migraines. Huge difference in my life. I'm a thrilled new patient. The office staff was excellent as well. I'm a sound patient for 22 years/3 neurosurgeries...I see a *lot* of specialists. The team here was excellent and I will recommend them to friends and family.

I was sent to Dr. Rao's facility for migraines by my ENT nurse practitioner. I trusted him with his diagnosis and treatment at first. However, I had also mentioned to him that I have a history of sinus infections and a job that was very stressful. Dr. Rao had prescribed some medicines with horrible and damaging side effects. He continued to dismiss my claims of sinus pains which led me to go to the urgent care one weekend where the doctors confirmed that I was badly congested, inflamed and infected. I finally went back to my ENT (a doctor this time), who diagnosed me with chronic sinusitis and put me on a few rounds of antibiotics and steroids to treat it. I also changed my job in the mean time. As a result, my sinusitis and migraines were cured. None of Dr. Rao's treatments had worked because his diagnosis (a determining or analysis of the cause or nature of a problem or situation) was incorrect.

Pt 1: I was admitted to the ER due to a driving accident from a seizure. As a teenager, a parent had to be called in (I'm assuming a part of protocol). My father, who was a scared parent (since I was undiagnosed with epilepsy at the time and and was not familiar with it), was asking Dr. Rao our questions about what the next steps were/about seizures in general. Although I was extremely tired, I could remember Doctor Rao being extremely snappy at my father. I genuinely felt terrible for my father because it seemed like my dad had to patiently communicate as Doctor Rao invalidate my father's concern through answering in an impatient and angry tone. It just came off as our presence was an inconvenience and that my dad had to be extremely cautious/calm in order to get some kind of answer. I am really grateful for the medical field. My aunt and great uncle, with a similar educational and cultural background as Doctor Rao, are doctors as well. So I do know the importance to leave a review

My experience with Dr. Rao was not positive. I did not feel that he was willing to listen, and had an attitude of superiority. I would not return to him nor would I recommend him.

Dr. Rao is an outstanding neurologist, one who believes in understanding my entire history and not rushing into either diagnosis or medication/surgery. I wish we had more doctors like him.

He's great. He diagnosed my problem, patiently answered all of my questions, and didn't order unnecessary procedures to bill my insurance, unlike several other physicians in central NJ.
