Dr. Vaz is a good doctor, although concerned more with weight loss than treating diabetes or thyroid disease. My bigger issues stem from her nurses and PAs who handle most of her follow-up care. I have auto-immune diabetes (not Type 2) and their only concern is that I should lose more weight. I have lost over 80 pounds in 18 months, but my a1c has increased. My frustration hit a tipping point this week. An ultrasound has shown that I have a large thyroid nodule with several markers for cancer and this clinic's suggestion is to just wait another year, rather than having it biopsied. For the last 2 years I have been on multiple drugs that are linked to medullary thyroid cancer. My primary care doctor is taking over my treatment for diabetes and thyroid disease since the endocrinology team is taking a wait-and-see approach to cancer diagnostics.

I am very happy with the care that I get from Dr. Vaz and her staff at Temple University Hospital. I have chosen to continue to travel to Temple University Hospital instead of switching to another Temple location to see a different provider. I find her to be knowledgeable and professional and experienced none of the complaints that I read in another review.

Dr. Vaz is one of the worst physicians I have encountered. Not only is she demeaning and cursory in her exam, but she has consistently mis-diagnosed me and given me inappropriate prescriptions. As medical provider, I am privy to the challenges of working in a clinic setting, however these challenges are not what has prompted my poor review of Dr. Vaz. Rather it is her personality is what truly sets her apart. From her unprofessional attire to her inexcusable bedside manner, Cherie Vaz awful!
